Amex Customer Service

This is just a vent,,,,I called today to just ask when my last CLI request had been ( I thought it was sometime in March ). She assured me it was in December,that that was what the sytem had said.I consented to do an increase and I was declined.When I asked to be transferred to the credit dept, she let me know that the reasons will be sent in a letter.I then  ask when I last requested an increase and she told me March 31 (again in the system) I told the lady that the csr told me that the last request was  in December and complete silence..I then tell her,gently,mind you that I know why I was declined,for asking too soon...She flat out got rude with me and said "I can tell you why you got turned down" and then rambled off the many reasons why and  in not a nice way.Makes me wonder why they would want me as a customer in the first place....My mistake for again getting duped with info from the csr's.I asked mutiple times,for her to recheck and "No,the last time we have in the system is December"..I consented thinking I was wrong if it was indeed in the system.I would like to think that they would be truthful in their information.At the very least, friendly...Im thinking I will keep this card open for my Netflix account.Sorry for my vent,just a little unerved that they would be deceiving in their info.I was probably good to ask for one in a few days..........Please feel free to move this if its in the wrong forum

Sorry you had to experience that. Lately when I have dealt with Amex it has been with someone in a foreign country and it's hit or miss. Some are very helpful and knowledgeable, others are basically reading from the computer screen.

I received the same info once but didn't fall for it because I knew better but didn't have exact date. It was via chat and the rep eventually got it right.

Well, I now keep a spreadsheet of such info so I don't forget.

Sorry OP that really sucks. I appreciate good customer service and when they

are rude for no reason at all, it's very upsetting and shouldn't happen.

After all YOU are the customer!!

 

I mark on a calendar when the time is to ask for a CLI because I don't have any HP's to waste heheh

It helps me because I think I am going to remember the date and then I don't.

 

I know the future will be brigter, hang in there!Smiley Wink

We must have had the same rep. I hung up after the call and called Penfed, and BAAM 30k Platinum Signature card at 10.24 rate and 12 months 0% BT. Penfed is getting ALL of my money.
