So I was bored and decided to apply for an Amex Card almost 3 years post chapter 7. American Express included in Bankruptcy so I thought why not they will just decline me with no HP. Submitted application wheels spin and I get a message your application is under review and 7-10 day message. I then get a Experian credit alert Amex did a Hard Pull for my application. I checked online for application status but the system is down for maintenance. Do you think there is any chance the application will be approved and if not why a hard pull does this mean I'm not blacklisted or just my dumb luck they hit me with the hp
Thanks
Update. Received email with a link to check application status. Status says pending. I guess I'll call during regular business hours
Pretty odd considering amex requires 5 years and 1 month after BK to be approved.

This. If you get approved, you most definitely fell between the cracks, and should go buy a lotto ticket right away. lol
Fingers Crossed! Good luck
Keep us posted OP & Good Luck!
The Amex Blacklist is still in force. My application was declined. I spoke with a very nice CSR who apologized the system was down resulting in a hard pull for my application when it should have been declined outright. She sent me a link to dispute the hard pull which was very nice. She did not make any promises but I'm hopeful it will be removed. Amex still rocks hoping to get back in with them for no other reason than I had been a member for over 36 years.
Sorry about the denial, OP. But thanks for the DPs to confirm that blacklist and no HP is still alive and well.
Just an after thought but you said you had been a member for 36 yrs so if and when you get back in your card will say "member since 2xxx".
I was quite surprised when my card showed up a few months ago and it said "member since 2005"
