Re: Amex Denial

My situation was similar to you.  Burned them years ago, was blacklisted 10 years.  Recently got back in, with a Gold Card (don't need the revolving, so didn't apply for anything else).  I notice you have both Gold and Platinum.  Did you apply for both at the same time, or at two separate times?  do you know if, under these circumstances, you can upgrade?

Re: Amex Denial

Update:
After reading a few of your responses I decided to pull the trigger again today and apply. I got the “we’re reviewing your application” pop-up. I decided to call in and after a few verification questions she told me I was approved! Only another 1k limit but happy to get the 60k skymiles bonus. I figured I had nothing to lose as it was another soft pull. Now to garden for a few months and hopefully get an offer for the Amex Gold or Platinum.

Re: Amex Denial

Key here will be at least 2 months preferably 3 months into owning that new card...

The 1000 CL can be problematic... but is not necessarily so...

As some folks have said.. 1000$ is kinda the minimum you usually see for an Amex approval... its a we see something worth giving you a chance but we have some concerns about your score or CR....

You could in theroy try the 61 day CLI but if you want to make *sure* your scores are updated and I think (personal opinion).. wait the extra month .....

Goodluck
