I am highly considering leaving the garden and apping for an Amex card(s) in the very near future and have read a few threads regarding a double app for 1 hard pull.
Question for those in the know, if you double app in which order would be best charge card then revolver? or revolver first then charge card? And also should you app for both within the same 24 hour timefrme to assure 1 hard pull? or split them up as for instance =( 11;59pm for one app then 12:01am the next day for the second app)? or even the 2 browsers open at one time affect? ![]()
I personally did revolver than charge. I did 1 app, than when it was approved did the 2nd. Good luck! Let us know what you get ![]()
I've done it both ways... in 2015 I app'd for a Green then a BCP, and last year I app'd for a Delta Gold then PRG. Both times I only got one HP.
I would not recommend doing this late in the evening, though... if you end up with each application being on a different calendar day (in whatever time zone Amex is in) you would likely end up with a HP for each.
Note that if you ask Amex directly about this, they will insist that they do a HP for each application; because of this it's believed that Experian merges HPs from the same issuer if made the same day (which is why it's important for you to do your applications well before midnight).
Also, it's not necessary to do anything fancy with multiple browsers, tabs, etc... both times I did my own applications around 20 minutes apart in the same browser. The PRG app did require me to call but that was because I used a VPN to find a higher signup bonus, not because I did two apps in one day.
Good luck! ![]()

My story
Apped first for the Green Card. Got 14 day notice. Five minutes later got approval email. 6:32AM
Waited about 12 hours
Decided to try for BCE. Instand approval 2k at 6:40PM
Good luck
Hello all just wanted share my sucess with the amex express double app process. Was trying to wait on a couple of balances to report to zero on my report but just decided to go ahead and give it a whirl. Appiled for the BCE prefeered first as this one was my main target and recieved instant approval for a $10k SL! Then waited around an hour or so and applied for the PGR gold card and recieved instant approval for that one as well! Havent recieved any alerts on my reports yet regarding a HP but something interesting occured during my BCEpreferred app. Signed in and applied through the Amex website in which I already have a BCE card and they just asked for the last 4 of SSN for that application. And for the PGR they didnt ask for any SSN info so, not sure if this would be a soft pull as a few have recently reported for current amex members. None the less, very excited about both amex approvals! Eveything in my sig is current so it certainly goes to show that you dont need 700 plus credit scores with amex to get a decent SL as they take in consideration more aspects of your credit profile for approvals. I just cant thank this forum enough for the wealth of insight and knowldge our contibutors provide ![]()
I think I will convert my $2k limit on my BCE over to the preferred once it hits a year and close it. These 2 apps assures my place in the garden for a infinite amount of time thanks again to my fico forums! ![]()
I apped for charge card first, instant approval, so then went ahead and applied for HiltonHonors with another instant approval for 5k.
