Amex Info

So I was not sure where to put this....so mod's feel free to move it as you see approved.

Last week I have a mini app spree.  I learned you can apply for as many Amex products as you would like and even if you are approved the Amex computer can only process 1 App. every 7 business days if you are approved....    This is per the customer service rep. I spoke with yesterday.

Re: Amex Info

I've had a different experience. I got 2 amex cards in one week, 2 more another week (within 2 days) and there was no issue. this was a year ago so they may have changed the policy.

My experience is similar. Got both BCP and Amex Platinum in December, but only one pull on Experian.

Re: Amex Info

It seems I read somewhere that Amex is inquiry sensitive but I am seeing approvals from people who have several inq's. I have 7 on EQ - 3 are a year old and 1 is my mortgage.  I am gardening but Amex is next on my list. How long should I wait?

Re: Amex Info

I don't think they're that Inquiry sensitive. I had like 10 on my EX when I was approved lol. Btw they pretty much only pull EX; how does your EX look?

Re: Amex Info

My Ex has 6 INQ (3 this summer), current score is 686 (down from 701 after getting a mortgage and a couple cc''s), AAoA about 4 yrs and 1 med collection from 2010 for $150.  I tried the pre-qualifier and only get the "recommended" offers. I wasn't sure if that means I will be declined and a sign I should pull more weeds in the garden lol

Edited to add: I just realized the biggest drop in my Ex and EQ scores came after I paid off a personal loan that reported in September. That cost me 14 pts.

Re: Amex Info

That's not bad at all. I think you have a decent shot.

Yes, that means you're technically not pre qualified, however, that doesn't mean you wouldn't be approved. FWIW, I wasn't prequalified either. Granted I apped for a charge card and those are supposedly easier to get approved for, but in any case, I'm in.
