Amex Platinum confusing situation

I decided to apply for a Amex Platinum, after delaying my decsion for a couple of months. I went to the Amex site, my account, (two other cards with Amex) and go to apply and can not find the Amex Platinum anywhere.  I can see 17 other cards, inclduing the two i have.  Confused, I am curious as to ho wmany cards Amex has and do a quick web search and end up at Wallethub.  I click the Platinum button there, hit apply our of curiosity and boom, take me to the Amex site, to apply for the Platinum and i get the "?????, you are pre-approved" so of course I am way confused.   

Anyone else ever had a similar occurence?

You have to go to * Show all cards*, otherwise you're seeing only the ones Amex is peddling at the moment

I did  go to all cards, still did not get it at the site, only when I went through another site.

That also has been known to happen on occasion. I honestly don't think anyone knows why that happens to be quite honest. Sometimes loging back in, clearing cookies, or simply waiting it out are all known to work.

Well, did you apply?

Ive had this issue myself.  After a day or two, the card returns to the menu

Use a different web browser or private browser or different computer/phone and it will pop up. I believe when your app is declined the patinum card will not show up until you are able to reapply. They can tell what web browser that you used.
