So how would I know if they do a soft or hard pull on a new app?
Also. I did t think 23% util was all that bad.
If you are a current Amex cardholder and apply for a new card a denial usually results in a SP, an Approval will result in a HP, which most people don't mind because it garnered an approval. 23% Utilization doesn't sound bad in the grand scheme of things, but lenders like Amex don't care for it. maximizing Fico scores requires 9% or below for utilization, so I'd like to think a lender likes the same formula when I apply.
This is weird. Just got a call from a AZ number. It's amexcustomer service wanting to make sure I was happy with the call I made earlier today. I said no. No reason I shouldn't qualify for a cli. She said she would re-request an account overview. I said ok they just did this. She wanted to do it again and got my updated income. Hung up and had an email from Amex saying to call in about my new cli request. Called in and the guy was rude and said it was declined again and I should t have re-requested since they just declined it earlier this week.
I didn't even try to do another cli, the customer service rep suggested it!! So frustrating!!!!
What are your limits on other cards on avg?
I have seen a few folks specifically with delta golds be grid locked into really low limits. Honestly, how often would you make a delta purchase higher than 1k?
I have personally attempted to get an auto increase by using the card exclusively and didnt have much luck. Instead I will reallocate limit from another card. You can at least try for APR reductions during this time.
Isnt there some way a person could call and push for a financial review, try to reveal your assets and such? Since your income is so high it might help but could be a hassle.
As far as applying for the platinum I would only do that if you could get the 60k miles offer but even then you are paying $195 af the first year (essentially $95 year one since you get $100 credit after first delta purchase) You also get an annual companion pass which is nice for domestic flights.
You may just have to consider another creditor. Or write a few goodwill letters to get the late payment removed, (dont those drop off after 7 years?)
I don't have a late with them and never had. My oldest late is 6.7 yrs old.
