I actually requested ee on two other items the past few weeks and had them removed. I havent done anything on this yet b/c it's still about 6-8 months away from falling off.
What are your limits on other cards on avg? Discover $3500, Discover it $4k, Barclays Apple rewards $6,250, Amex delta gold $1k, Cap1 QS $3250...all with zero bal. $1k amex ed with $900 balance, haven't paid off b/c o% interest, Chase slate $7500 limit, $6200 balance b/c 0% balance transfer.
I have seen a few folks specifically with delta golds be grid locked into really low limits. Honestly, how often would you make a delta purchase higher than 1k? Not often, like the points but could switch to other cards.
I have personally attempted to get an auto increase by using the card exclusively and didnt have much luck. Instead I will reallocate limit from another card. You can at least try for APR reductions during this time.
Isnt there some way a person could call and push for a financial review, try to reveal your assets and such? Since your income is so high it might help but could be a hassle.
As far as applying for the platinum I would only do that if you could get the 60k miles offer but even then you are paying $195 af the first year (essentially $95 year one since you get $100 credit after first delta purchase) You also get an annual companion pass which is nice for domestic flights. I did check and am eligible for the 60k bonus, and like the companion ticket. Ideally I'd get this for airline milesand HH honors citi premier for free weekend nights.
You may just have to consider another creditor. Or write a few goodwill letters to get the late payment removed, (dont those drop off after 7 years?) I think I've got a few more months before I can get an ee, tried goodwill letters t the board of directors at AHFS and no luck there, these are my only remaining baddies though and they are about to age off.
I saw 60k miles bonus for delta platinum plus 10k medallion points if you sepnd 2k in 3 months.. thats a good deal, im tempted to apply.. since my delta gold is also low limit.
Sorry to hear this. I would just move my spending to another card at another company. I'm not going to force business on someone who doesn't want it.
Think it's they don't like ur higher limit card almost maxed out and the card u have with them at 900/1000. I also heard the hardest to get CLI with Amex is when u start with their 1000 limit card. I got 2 cards from them almost 3 months ago now one started at 18k other started at 12k. I requested for a CLI at day 65 or so the 12k went to 36k and the 18k got declined cause recently got an increase in account
I feel your pain I too can't seem to get AMEX to increase the limit on my Gold Delta either and I'm at 20% until on that card. The 61 day 3x CLI is only a dream for me at this point 😕😔
@Anonymous wrote:What are your limits on other cards on avg? Discover $3500 Which discover card is this? Just curious :-) I would be requesting CLI's on these every 30-90 days, Discover it $4k, Barclays Apple rewards $6,250 Some have luck with barclays by calling in and asking for a APR reduction, and then you are able to get a CLI without a HP, Amex delta gold $1k, Cap1 QS $3250Request CLI's every 6 months...all with zero bal. $1k amex ed with $900 balance, haven't paid off b/c o% interest Like others have said this is very high utilization I would pay this down to 300 or less ASAP, Chase slate $7500 limit, $6200 balance b/c 0% balance transfer. This is another concern Your overall util is not bad, but the cards you are using are maxed out. This shoudl be paid down to 2500 or less ASAP.

Random notes etc. Thanks for the detailed reply. I always try to advise/work on other things so the other stuff doesnt seem so bad..
I would def advise against apping for a 3rd amex, unless you want another $1k limit card. Are you close to a delta hub? Do you use any other airlines often?
Have you checked for prequalified offers with citibank?

My delta seems to be locked at 1k also so I feel your pain. Soon as I spend my 30k points in August I'm trimming them out of the herd. Amex is currently my lowest SL card. The BCP I'll keep because the 6% but it's also stuck at 1k. But the delta is just to hard to utilize at 1k to really get any points on.
+1
This describes me perfectly... I've also got a BCP and a Delta Gold both at $1k. They have always denied my CLI requests on my BCP due to "previous negative experience with an American Express account" - referring to an account that was IIBK 16 years ago. I'm happy they let me back in, but I guess this is all I can expect from now on.
Oddly, I got approved for the PRG the same day as the Delta Gold, and the PRG was approved for pay over time - at the same APR as the Delta Gold. It seems counterintuitive to approve me for pay over time but only give me a $1k SL on the Delta, but it is what it is.
My plan is to move as much of the Delta credit line as I can to the BCP, then close Delta eventually. I suspect any additional cards I might apply for with them will be at the generous $1k SL as well... LOL. (Again, I'm pleased to be back at all... I can't stress that enough. I know some folks aren't allowed back at all.)

Something tells me this is weighing heavily with them.
