So I used to have charged off Amex which I just paid off on 1st of Sept. My credit reports havent updated from what I have checked and Amex said they have sent out reports to all the agencies and should update by this Friday.
I am supposed to get Optima application in next few days.I decided to see if I pre-qualify for anything and get this message and I have never seen it before, any idea what this means
Based on your interests, we recommend the following Cards for you.
I didnt check Travel or something like that,I just check "Not sure" option.
Yeah it doesn't mean pre-qual. I've seen the new message when it's pre-qual as my partner has excellent credit 800+ and he loves to show me what I can't get

That's just the standard message you get when they don't have a pre-qualified offer for you.
That being said, I got both of my cards (Green and BCP) with no pre-qual, so lack of an offer doesn't mean you won't be approved, either. If it were me, I would wait for the Optima application... with the recent charge-off an approval for a standard card will be difficult, even if you've now paid it.
For reference, I included a Green card in my BK7 back in 2000 - more than 15 years ago - and they still use "Previous delinquincy with an American Express account" as an excuse to deny a credit line increase for my BCP.
That is good then, earlier because of charge off it would just straight out deny me saying you dont qualify for anything, now I get this generic message so in future after Optima I can definitely look for pre-quals
I would assume they've taken you off the BL if the message is different.
I paid a CO to them and got approved for a card three weeks later. Your EX score being 611, it's more than likely you're not blacklisted -- but you also don't qualify for any product but the Oasis. Their minimum seems to be 660ish... I'd responsibly use and keep the Oasis for a year or so then apply.

I also got both my cards, Everyday and SimplyCash, with no pre qual showing. And I also included a Green card in my bankruptcy. In 1982. But it appears that they've forgiven me since I have gotten two CLI's on my ED.

The generic message is a new thing.

That's awesome to know.
I was considering eventually applying for one of their no-AF cards with the intention of keeping it for a year, then moving the credit line over to the BCP, but maybe that won't be necessary. I already plan on closing the Green in March, so even though it's NPSL hopefully not having it will make it easier for them to give the BCP a 'bump'.
