They did the same to me when I applied for my SimplyCash. My BCE was sick drawered and very little usage in the past year, and the letter they sent said they are rearranging my credit line to accommodate my new accounts and that this is the highest credit limit they have for me now based on my previous usage/utilization.
Oh well I didn't feel bad either.
That will probably happen to me too when i app SimplyCash. I hardly use my HHonors at all.

According to chat rep BCE from 25K to 14K and 11K used to open SPG. Looks that 25K is the total limit for me with Amex. Amex could have done so with a SP as no new credit with this action ...lol.. jkd
Congratulations on the SPG.
I'm guessing they took a look at your spend rate on the BCE and determined that you aren't going to be using $25k any time soon, so just get to the good stuff and move $11k over to the SPG.
Thanks..... It was a really interesing instant approval online .. 60seconds as advertised and 25K limit on BCE reduced immediately to 14K when I logged in
So the computer can do this automatically it looks ..lol.. SPG will definitely see more use as BCE
... Amex heard my comment of travel cards with FTF and removed the FTF now
congrats. interesting that amex did this. I know BofA does this also.
Had no idea Amex would bring some limit from one card to open another. Wow. i would gladly move 10k from my Delta to open say the Blue Cash Preferred. Not sure if i could call them up before hand tell them to open me a new card and take 10k off my Delta. As i would never come close to using the 20k limit that is on the card. In my mind Amex is so fickle i think if i used half of the limit they would shut me down.

I think you'll have to apply
