So my credit scores are roughly as follows: EX 684, EQ 680, TU 688. My annual income is increasing to around 43k (additional hours at work as of today with possible raise coming from both jobs as well).
I want to apply for an AMEX card. I got my first credit card 3 years ago this month. I don't have any negatives and no late payments. I do have 3 new cards. Would it be possible to get one? I'm thinking the everyday card or the blue cash everyday.
I just applied for the Everyday with roughly the same scores (but lower), and almost exactly the same income. Approved for $5k/17.99%
I have lates on my reports, but they're all 4-5+ years old. I'd go for it!
EDIT: I have two accounts open in the last month, and my AAoA is 7 years, with oldest open account being 7 years old, oldest closed being 12.

I applied. I got the standard "We have to look at it further". I have a fraud alert on my reports so I expected that message. I'm just hoping I can get it. If I do, I'm done apping until all my inquires fall off. If I don't, I'll wait a while and try again. I don't even truly want a high limit. I'd be happy to get my foot in the door with 1k.
But what did your utilization look like? Mine is incorrect as I paid off a lot of credit so it's about 19% but not all my credit cards have reported that yet.
11% overall, spread out on 2 cards. I requested a due date switch with Cap One like two or three months ago, forgot about it, and they implemented it on me with a balance on the card.
$1200 / $7000 on NFCU
$181 / $4500 on Cap1
I'm in the same boat. Just got an Amex. Don't need anything else for the next year or two. Trying to set myself up for a mortgage in the next couple of years and have plenty of tradelines to garden while the INQs and baddies fall off (2016-2018).
OP, if you got the "We will get back to you" message call them with the back door number. I did this just last week - apped, got the message, then called them about an hour later and they approved me over the phone. I tend to think that if they realize that you're interested enough to call to check up on your app, they will be more likely to approve you.

Yes, go for it. I got the Amex ED card and I love it! It's my go-to card and used daily. I only use my own income on apps and yours is about what mine is.

I got the Amex BCE with half your income and an AAOA of 1.33. I don't know if ED is any harder or easier to get but do it and tell us how it goes!!
So I called and was denied. Oh well.
