@SouthJamaica,  please note your not alone!

Well, they triple pulled me for the PLOC and denied it.

I thought I could use the same pulls and applied for the Platinum Rewards but they re- pulled Experian and Equifax and denied it.

I sent them a recon letter and they approved me for the Platinum Rewards.

Total hard pulls = 5.

I'll be keeping this one for a lifetime.

ouch.. what were your scores and DTI and new accounts?  What was reason for denial? thanks

Re: Andrews FCU triple pull

I'm convinced you never know which pull to go with Andrews FCU but at least they reconsider and essentially approve, at least they did for me after being a member for over 1 year and receiving 5 total pulls recently for requesting 2 credit products with one denied (PLOC =3 pulls) and one approved after Recon letter (Platinum Rewards = 2 pulls). Not sure whether it's due to my BK 7 in 2017.

Re: Andrews FCU triple pull

Fico scores EQ 698, Ex 689 & TU 677. DTI is 1%, reason for denial for PLOC BK 7 and initial denial for Platinum Rewards is BK 7 and too many recent open accounts.

Re: Andrews FCU triple pull

Thanks so sounds like more-so bk and scores with inquiries added on.. Least you got them on recon.   Mind if i ask how long you were a member for before applying for credit?  Thanks!

Re: Andrews FCU triple pull

@CreditCuriosity I was member of Andrews FCU since February 2019 but never applied for any credit products due to waiting fpr BK 7 to season

I've  heard of Capital One triple pulling, and Chase double pulling.

But I never heard of a credit union pulling all 3 bureaus on a credit card application.

But that's what Andrews Federal Credit Union just did to me when I applied for a credit card.

Re: Andrews FCU triple pull

That hurts. When I appd they only hit me with a single pull. Didn't know they could do a triple.  Something to remember when I reapp in four months.

Starting FICO 8s | 06/2018: EX 601 ✦ EQ 605 ✦ TU 590
Current FICO 8s | 9/2022: EX 732 ✦ EQ 739✦ TU 743
2023 Goal Score: 760+

Re: Andrews FCU triple pull

I didn't think to ask you @SouthJamaica , as a general rule, I keep everything frozen and then unfreeze each bureau accorordingly when I am applying for something.  That being said, I usually try to find out which will be pulled so I only unfreeze what is necessary in advance.

In your case, do you always keep all 3 bureaus open and thus giving them free reign to pull all 3 or did/do you keep them locked and they messaged you something to the effect of "please unfreeze all your reports for us to process this application?"

Considering the variation on responses here, that would be helpful to know.  Thanks
