Annoying and Frustrating Comenity Experience

So several weeks ago, I applied for their Virgin Comenity Visa card and there was a HP done on my EQ report and I've been waiting a while for the letters to come in and those never arrived at all and after having to hear a generic response from a CSR about needing a letter, I was finally able to get through to a supervisor and he kept telling me that they can't do anything because there's a security freeze on my EQ report despite the fact that there was already a HP done when I applied. He said something like we see that we did pull your report then but we can't see any credit information to make a decision so you need to have that freeze removed and reapply again.

I really hope they aren't like this with their other products and quite frankly, I'm really annoyed at this whole process of theirs.

Re: Annoying and Frustrating Comenity Experience

Well, i got the run around after closing the first 2 cards of theirs.

Guess they didn't want to see anymore and i mean i had to go around to the side door to get it done.

Calling to the back of the card yielded nothing and i tried calling the credit depot and never got thru.

What i did do was call the number for one of their visa branded cards that i don't have and then they were able to close them out.

I wasn't very happy to have to do a long dance just to close out a store card. Bahhhh

Geez they sound like a bunch of jokers, 100x worse than Citi reps which I already found bad enough. At least Sync Bank stuff usually has an option right there in the login to close the account.

Re: Annoying and Frustrating Comenity Experience

Gee, Comenity hard pulling EQ then saying denied due to security freeze. Been there done that. They told me "all the CRA speak to each other, so none can be frozen." I must sound really dumb on the phone.

Goodluck, there's like 2 reasonable people in that entire building.

Were you able ever to get through to anyone there? I'm not really gonna bother and I think I'll stay away from other comenity products outside of their BML stuff.

Re: Annoying and Frustrating Comenity Experience

No I didn't get anyone with an understanding that EX and EQ are separate. I did manage to get them to remove the inq.

Re: Annoying and Frustrating Comenity Experience

I would ask them to remove the inquiry if they wont then I might just try a CFPB complaint.

Re: Annoying and Frustrating Comenity Experience

Alright. I'll call someone at Comenity to have that inquiry removed. Can't believe the incompetence there.
