Another Discover CLI Denial

Got denied by Discover again for a CLI.  I'm 1yr post unsecuring (went from $400 to $1800 at that time) and have tried a few times (at 5mo, 8mo, and 1yr from the prior CLI), each with the same "insufficient experience with current limit" reason.  This time around I increased the usage expecting I might see insufficient usage as a reason, but nope haven't got that one yet.  I was pushing to get this one up more since it's my lowest limit, but I think I'm going to focus on growing one of my other cards for now as I don't have a great use case to put a lot of my spend on it (it's the Chrome instead of the rotating categories...oh how I wish I could PC it).

Re: Another Discover CLI Denial

So sorry to hear about your limit increase denial! Hoping sometime soon they finally say yes! You're not getting the denial reason "not enough usage" yet but for me I kept getting that message every time I tried to get an increase. I ended up making a major purchase of $2200 on another credit card and then intentionally doing a balance transfer of that balance onto my Discover card. After doing that they gave me a $3000 limit increase 3 months in a row ($9000 total). I don't know if that is something you can try? You may not have to even do that high of an amount. I did that because my limit was already $17K and I knew doing significantly less probably wouldn't have had an impact. Best wishes to you with this card!
