Thanks Davein AZ. wish you all the best on completing your Heloc. I was very happy to finally win this battle. Not sure i want to go to war for another cli in the future though. With my income and normal everyday bills, i dont think ill ever have a suitable dti ratio good enough to get much more but im ok with that. 1500 is plenty good enough. I wouldnt woory too much about a dirty profile, we just gotta move forward and continue bettering our profiles and if someone doesnt appreciate it, always other fish in the sea
Yeah, I don't have a very high income either - but adequate for my needs & lifestyle - and Penfed knew that from all the documentation I had to provide for the Heloc. But it seems like a catch-22 - they don't like high utilization, but with such a low CL it's very hard to keep util down even with modest everyday spending. When my BoA card had only a $300 CL all they got from me was Netflix disc rental and occasional streaming rental, as even a lousy hundred bucks would put me over 30% util. But even with that minimal spend they eventually gave me an auto CLI to $1800, which is plenty as I use it mainly for 3% gas rewards, and my little Mazda hatchback gets almost 40mpg.
Penfed caught me off guard with generating a statement on the 26th for a card received in mid May, so it reported a balance of $242, 48%, dinging my EX score. But now I know the statement date so I'll pay that sucker down before the statement.
