Hey guys,
I just combined my two Quicksilver One accounts, so I now have an $8000 limit.
I was hoping to have the card PC'd into a World Mastercard (or any higher tier) - has anyone had luck with that via chat alone, or is this something I'd need to contact the EO office about? I'd rather not abuse the EO office if possible.
I just tried chatting, but the rep was ... lacking. She said they could offer me a 1.5% reward on purchases, but I already have that feature. I asked her to confirm that, and she did - so it's obviously silly for her to ask me to accept something I already have.
I asked her my original question again, if I could have the card changed into a higher tier and suggested maybe a Quicksilver (without the "One" - in case there was a Mastercard version) or a World Mastercard, and she sent me to a product comparison screen that showed the Quicksilver Visa and the QuicksilverOne Mastercard and told me there wasn't a real difference between the two.
Uhm... yes there is. Obvious lack of annual fee, and access to Signature benefits - but that's a moot point since I don't think you can PC from a Mastercard to a Visa.
I think I'll wait until tomorrow and try again since I literally just combined the two. I thought I'd ask for advice in the meantime.
Thanks!
I thought I'd give an update just in case anyone else had this same question.
I ended up calling Cap1 this morning to ask about upgrading my card, but they weren't much help - so I finally emailed the EO, and that did have results. They called me back today too!
They were able to upgrade the card to a Quicksilver Mastercard (no "One", I believe, since they're sending me a new card) with no annual fee, and I still of course keep the 1.5% rewards.
The only bummer is that he said he thinks this card won't have an EMV chip... which is strange since the QS1 image on my account shows an EMV chip, so I probably could have had a QS1 with an EMV sent to me if I'd asked.

Well what did you have before? I thought you were talking about upgrading from the Qs mastercard to the World edition. Siggy below. not sure if not. This should be your next step in 6 months. Not that it makes much of a difference from world mastercard to regular Platinum. extra benifits. but mainly going unused.
I did ask about the World edition, but apparently the "offer" that they had on hand was for the Quicksilver, no annual fee, etc. so I went for it. I do think I'll try upgrading again after six more months if possible as my credit gets better. (or I'll combine it into a different card if there is no real benefit to having a Mastercard over a Visa.)
