So, my last CLI for Cap1 for my QS card was back in late 2017 (when it was the Platinum before the PC). Tried to request a CLI from $1500 to $3000 back in January but was denied because of my utilization on the card. I wasn't mad at all about the denial because at the time it was around 85% but it's been sitting at 8% for two months. I plan on requesting another CLI next month and I wanted to know if any of you have had recent success with Cap1 with the same card for CLI? My understanding is that Cap1 can be really tight on how they give out CLI and this increase would be one way for me to close my QS1 that I rarely use now.
Sounds like the card is bucketed to me, especially since it started as bucketed. There may be a few $500.00 CLIs left for you, but I don't know that there would be a whole lot more than that available to you. I'd try requesting $500 or $750 and see what happens this time through...then wait the additional six months and do the same.
Do at least 3 months of heavy usage and payments. I basically doubled both of mine in one month by doing this. Cycled both 3 times. The qs1 hadn't received an increase in the 3 years before that.
I think your fighting a battle you cant win my friend, i am in same situation as you. ( Our profiles dont fit their needs) With that being said when ALL my cards reach 2 years, CO will be chopped, Everybody has an opinon about CO this is mine, CO isnt for everyone, maybe this is your case as well, good luck to you.

Even if it's only around $500-$750, I'll be happy with that knowing that it's a short victory. I'm just not one of those who looks to get a huge amount of an increase on my card every few months. I rarely ask for a CLI and only done it twice within the past three years. I guess I try to be humble with whatever limit I get from the moment I'm approved. But we'll see what happens in the upcoming weeks since I should see a boost in scores this month and August.
My QS started out as a Plat that got PC'd I just recently got a CLI on it for +$100
@marcforza1, I'd try what Brian_Earl_Spilner suggests. If three or three-plus months of substantial usage and prompt payments don't work, it's possible that your limit has reached its max.
I don't think that's the case, though. It's not a surprise when cards with limits under 1k are stuck in a starter bucket. Given that your limit is more than that, I think you have a chance. Just make sure that your statement balances are paid in full. If you'd like, you can pay as you go. It's not necessary to post non-zero statement balances to generate a CLI offer.
I recently requested a 1.6k CLI on my QS, was offered 3k, and took 2.6k. That raised my limit from 7.4k to 10k. All I really wanted was $600 so my limit would end in three zeros. In the preceding two months, I was declined twice for not enough spending. My theory is that at 7.4k, my limit was too high for any more token increases. But once my spending was high enough for long enough, they were happy to offer 3k.
