I'd strongly suggest a recon, especially with your established history.

All of us here have varying profiles but, I'd have to dispute some of the nuances suggested as "negatives".

1) I had ~10-12 new revolving accounts

2) 10-12 new Eq INQs

3) a single 30 day mortgage late one year old

Approved for Visa Sig, then successfully recon'd PLOC from $15K to $10K, successfully recon'd Promise. ALL at great APRs and a single HP for all 3 apps, no docs required!

If you've already taken a HP, recon sure in hell can't hurt.

Some CUs seem to weigh certain parameters more heavily. In my case, decent income >$100K, home owner 25 yrs, same job 27 yrs.

Alliant? $15K SL almost instantly.

NASA won't give me the time of day without a HP!

11/14/14 Total CL $1,100; 6/30/15 Total CL $180K

@I will agree with the above. I had same amount of new accounts, about 16 new inquiries on EQ and a 90 late payemnt on student loan about 14 months ago. Approved for $6500 and then requested CLI - bumped to $7500. Income @ $100k, 2yr mortagage and steady job at just over 16 years.

I would try a recon...same HP for 90 days.

Called in and denied for "pyramiding debt" asked to explain and they said they noticed two accounts had increased in amount owed........been remodeling with Lowes card and Windows World card so..........would you not expect debt to increase.......explained that I was hoping to get a low interest card for BT.......they said send letter.    May followup since verbal explanation was not good enough.   This is a case of what good is credit for if you can't use it.  Suprised they didn't mention inq....they pulled Ex with FICO of 750, 9% utilization, Sal 150K.   Me and PenFed may not mesh.

With your profile that discussion should never had occured, you are a prime member, unfortunately both Pen Fed and Nasa are fond of the Pyramiding Debt label. I would suggest taking your business elsewhere those type of barriers should be reservered for the valid questionable members.
