Hello All-
I'm closing on my home in 15 days. Directly after I close, I plan to go on an app spree for 2-3 new cards. I would love to finally get in with AMEX as I know they pull EXP and with PenFed as I was told by their rep that they pull EQ. A DCU and Orbitz Visa are under consideration as well. I want to be intential about the cards I select.
Citi or Chase are not options as I burned them 4 years ago. With my scores listed below, do you think I will be approved? I have excellent payment history for the past 2.5 years, 1% utilization and 5 inquires on report. 3 of the inquiries were due to me shopping for a mortgage. Please feel free to suggest credit cards.
Data Points:
FICO Score 9 FICO Bankcard Score 8
TU: 684 TU: 688
EXP: 696 EQ: 686
EQ: 705 EXP: 679
Thanks!

AMEX pulls EX 8, not EX Bankcard Score 8. You're close to being on the fence but leaning toward approval with a lowish limit.
[edited because I misread a part of the original post. Hi mods!]
DCU pulls EQ FICO 5 so if you're seriously considering them you'll want to check that score as well.
When you say "burned" do you mean chargeoffs or BK? If a BK
Burned as in charge offs about 3 years ago. I settled the accounts for less than the full balance after they were charged off.
ETA: PenFed Pulls EQFICO9
You could possibly get some ideas from this?

I can speak of PenFed. WIth you EQ9 being 705, UTIL 1%, you will have a higher chance of being approved for their card. I got approved with UTIL 40% & 6 INQ (al in 2019) with a similar score when I applied in May. I was approved for $17.5K for their Platinum Rewards cards. I applied for their Power Cash right away, and was approved for $5k as well. After that, I swapped the credit limits between the 2 cards around. Recently, I was trying to get the CLI for the Platinum Rewards but they are not showing luv. :-)
Thank you!
