App Suggestions?

Hi everyone! I'm gardening right now, but I do want to apply for a new credit card next year once I've improved my scores and aged what I have a little bit.

I am fighting the urge to hit apps because I'm just getting started but feeling addicted Smiley LOLSmiley LOL Anyways, does anyone have CC suggestions? I want to add some to a list for when I start looking at getting a new card.

I would prefer no AF. Maybe another travel card? Cards that are prone to auto CLI? Or just whatever you think would suit a 19 year old trying to build credit!

Thank you! Smiley Very Happy

I have the BofA Travel Rewards card right now and I just got a Discover It Chrome for Students. FICO from TU is 681 based on the score BofA gives me. CreditKarma says my TU is 636 though and my Equifax 660. I'm looking to get a new card in 6 months, maybe later. Just want know some suggestions to add to the list.

Re: App Suggestions?

If you aren't getting one for 6 months the score question was irrelevant. Sorry-didn't see that you weren't looking now. My bad. (Tho you wondered the reason on the difference is Credit Karma and BofA FICO....CK is a Vantage score not a FICO and even if you get a FICO you need to know which one and what CRA. They are all different)

Once you are ready you should look at a)what your true FICO scores are and on what CRA (mostly FICO 8 or FICO 8 Bankcard for a credit card application) and more importantly what do you want in a card? Some of us like cash back... some points... some travel... depends on what's important to you.

You have 2 decent cards to get you started. Be good to them and they will back. Smiley Happy

Once you decide what type of rewards you want then you can start reading about all the cards out there and I guarantee you there will be some that you hear about and really want.

I really like the US Bank Cash+ Visa Signature and Chase Freedom right now...but I like cash back cards. For Travel I like CapOne Venture and Discover Miles. Everyone is different though. A lot hate the US Bank card (mostly cuz they don't like US Bank, not the card) so you really need to read about all of them. If you come on here or other credit forums daily you will hear above plenty of them.

Hope this helps. GL on your journey. You are off to a great start. Smiley Happy
