You are right. I just acticated my Citi card, and surprisingly the statement date is tomorrow! From others, the citi bank will report to credit bureaus immediate after the statement cuts. So, should I do the applications today? Or what? I don't want to wait for another 6 months for the attractive offer to go away...
All right, I will pull the trigger and see what will happen on me tonight... Stay tuned or warn me immediately!
@Anonymous wrote:I jumped out of Garden due to a Citi AA card offer last month (Dec 31), and was planning to have a mini spree at the end of this month. My plan is to apply for AARP from Chase and a second BBR card from BoA (maybe others if anything good).
The problem is that my AAoA is only 13m if the new Citi card won't report by then. The citi card application pulled EX, and the two new cards I would like to apply will also pull EX most likely in my state. I don't have any other apps within 6 month on my EX records beside the Citi card. The last second app on EX record is on June 26 last year. The last app on TU is on July 28. No ING on my EQ profile so far. However, I have ~5 new cards within a year. What is the best time for me to do the new applications? Is that any strategies for these apps? Does the two-browser trick work still?
Thanks.
Update: My Citi seems to post the first statement on 1/13/2016 and may result in a report to CBs immediately. So, do the apps on 1/12/2016?
Your scores are real strong. I don't see why you shouldn't apply for 2 cards if that's what you want.
Hey guys, I got two pending review messages.
Maybe I shouldn't use the two-browser method for these applications. But I tried it... Not sure if it matters at all.
Should I call one of the backdoor numbers?

The consensus on this forum about reconning Chase is that it's better to stay away from calling, and just let nature take its course.
The BofA site said:
Decision: Your application is in review. Thanks for choosing Bank of America. We're carefully reviewing your application and need to check a few more things. We appreciate your patience. We'll also send you a letter in the mail after we've completed processing your application. If we have any questions, we'll call you.
Chase is the common 7-10 business day message thing.
Also wait for BofA?
Interesting to find that No HP so far when the applications are in review...

I can tell you if I were in your shoes and wanted the cards, yes I'd do exactly as you're describing. Get them before new acct reports and have dual browsers going. Of course your profile will get better with age, but if you're already out of the garden might as well try to get what you want/need.
Don't know how much credibility there is with the 2 browser method since everything is lightning fast and automated nowadays. It's more superstition for me
Actually, I just use one browser and the phone if CU involved with app spree. Did not make difference, was approved for every card (except cap one does not seem to like me, no HPs though). Double browser method used for Chase apps to try to get single hard pull, or Amex so every card gets its bonus. Otherwise, no need.
