Apping for two Amex

So I have a question about apping with amex.  I know that I should app for two.  I have a pre-qualified letter for a green card.  If I app for the same time for a Delta amex do I just app again online or do I need to call to make sure that I only get one pull?

There's no way to guarantee only one pull. They usually will only do one pull, and they usually SP if you already have an Amex in good standing. You could always call if you want and ask them but there's really no guarantee they can provide proper information to you. Very likely you'll be fine though

Just do back to back apps. My DW got a PRG  prescreened letter and right after getting approved on line for that did the Everyday and was approved for that. If you are denied for the charge card don't try for the credit card.

thanks applurker and swampy.  I'm going to wait till my payments happen.  I was not planning on apping so my utilazation up around 9% so I will wait till it goes back down to 1% and I get all my points back.

So if i already have the AMEX ED card in gooD standings for over 6 months and wanted to app for the delta or charge, it will be a SP?

Yes i can confirm its only a soft pull if your card is in good standing. Went for the prg since i have major purchased planned in june was declined and got hard pulled. It was all for points, and i got what i deserved experian dropped to 680 .

And don't go for the Green! Get PRG for the bonus and first year AF waived. Green doesn't come with a bonus and you can PC the PRG to something cheaper (or even get a retention offer) when your AF hits.

We seem confused. It's a SP Denial if you are a current card holder. Approvals will always net a HP. Some experience a HP denial, likely profile changed pushing the applicant out of approval range since last SP is why this happens, pure speculation.

App for the PRG first (nice bonus try 50k link) as said you can downgrade next year, then the Delta right after if approved.

So I got the green pre approval in the mail.... when I check there pre approval all I get to pop up for me is the green.  So I'm a little concerned about apping for anything else.  It is a foot in the door.

Green and PRG are thought to be the same underwriting standards. I wouldn't worry.

Make sure your CR is ready when you app and you should be good.
