I've been having trouble getting my identity verified with Goldman Sachs for my Apple Card application and I think I MAY have finally figure out part of the problem.
I used to have a freeze on my file, which I lifted. The site shows no freeze and no lock. However, by AnnualCreditCredit.com report shows thisTU Message
Could this be causing the problem? When I apply, it asks me to scan (photograph) my ID, which I do, but they fail to verify it. This time it says my application is "uner review"
How do I get this removed? I checked the dispute center and there's no option to remove it.
The Apple Card is the last card on my wish list (other than AOD 3%, but that's not sadly going to happen).
Interesting that when you log directly into TU site...it doesn't state the freeze...or the freeze has been lifted. I'm guessing you've confirmed on a specific TU site like this one?
https://service.transunion.com
Do you recall freezing another of the other identifiable services like ChexSystems, SageStream or LexisNexis? I think Apple also checks/pulls SageStream for verification purposes
There are two ways to ice your credit reports
1) Security freeze
2) Record lock
Both have to be lifted for a creditor to pull your file
Good luck

For me it has been TU 9, CHEX, and CoreLogic for every app I've submitted. (I may or may not have submitted a lot of them... )
You can call Transunion and speak to a CSR that your report shows a security freeze that you want to remove.
As an alternative you can print out a copy of the page of your report that shows there is a security freeze then send a letter CMRR to them requesting that they remove the freeze while including that copy showing a freeze is reported.
Let them figure out what is going on and follow up with you regarding next steps.
Once it has been removed you can request another freeze be placed, essentially just starting over.
I tried calling them and the guy didn't seem to understand me (English wasn't his first language). I'm trying adding the security freeze back again and removing it again. I'm still waiting on a call from Goldman, even though it's now past 1pm on the 2nd day after I applied... I'm so nervous I'll miss the call.
Goldman never called me, so I called them, but the inbound call team was of no help. I asked them to cancel the application so I could re-apply (hoping the freeze alert had been removed and I could apply now).
I was asked for ID and it says it is pending again. We'll see if they actually call this time. At this point, it's a game on endurance.
