should be able to put 30-40k through it by then
Unfortunately, that's such a huge sacrifice for many of us on uncategorized spend. Not to mention higher 3-5% categories, you're sacrificing a flat 1% off what you could make with a 2% card. If you could put $40K through, that's $400 lost. That's the equivalent of a pretty decent SUB on a new card.
I would have to agree. A complete waste of rewards to be earned. Not to mention, even with CLI, this card only holds so much value with larger limit.
It's not about the rewards for me most of the time.
i set a goal and work for it.
My next goal might be another Apple CLI.
It seems that takes a higher level of spend.
as mentioned i think that is what annoys me most about card although a 7.5k cl still dont feel comfortable floating a 2.5k+ macbook pro and iphone on said CL. i rather use one of my bigger hitting CL's where i dont feel the impact at all if i am not going to PIF.. If I PIF then possibly the apple card might be the right choice. I have only been putting 25-100 a month through it and figure will try when account is 6 months old which is pretty soon and tu 09 is sitting around a 840ish atm..
My first AppleCC CLI (4 business days after CLI request). Card limit was increased from 5000 to 6500 without HP/SP. Some additional data: age of the account: 7 months. Average spending ~1500/month with typical balance at closure date of 0USD.

Nice job on the CLI!
You spent more than 2x your credit limit over seven months, so you definitely met GS Bank's criteria! That's what they are looking for.

Hi and what's the answer from apple?
just messaged in for a CLI, was instantly increased from 5->$6,000
currently 3800 balance, 2/29 report was $0, and about $8000 put on this card since November... not sure what TU9 is but somewhere in the low 700's for sure
@Saeren posted on 04/01/2020 that he got a $2500 CLI on Apple Card - double the previous limit - to $5000!
I was very pleased for him. He also reported not using the card, which sounded like a game changer! I have been using the card very minimally for the past few months since asking for CLI in December and getting declined, but decided I would give it a go anyway.
Declined, for the same reason many of us got in December ... "The proportion of your credit limit you have used and paid is not sufficient." At least it was a soft pull.
And it appears it's still important (for most of us) to get the spend, regardless of other credit factors. They referenced my Transunion credit score as of March 23, 2020 which they used for the review was 850. It apparently didnt' help me at all.

That's a bummer, @Aim_High. I was hoping to see an approval
I definitely wouldn't consider this to be much spend. It's only ~$5 for 2020 (I thought this was more like $12).

You can see my 23.49% went down to 21.99% today to reflect the prime rate cut too.
I don't know what the secret sauce was then. Maybe it's just my FICO going up so much since approval? I went from a BK card to a no BK card. I don't know my TU9 but with my EQ9 being at 783 with the BK, the TU9 could be more around 800 when it was like 710 when I got the card.
At least they don't HP!
CLI from 15k to 20k
a few days past 4 months from the previous CLI.
Spend is 500-1100 per month
