Application-pending...pended?

Barclays status check went from pending to pended overnight.

Anyone have experience with this type of notation? I don't think it's a system error or it would have simply remained "pending". I haven't been contacted by email or phone for additional info.

BTW, my app for a different card the night before went from pending to approved by the following AM.

Quite frankly, I expected the status to change but, never expected...pended

Wife's Arrival+ app did the exact same thing. We ended up calling recon number who explained they could only issue $1,000 more in credit and if she'd like to open it with that. (Moved some CL around, Closed Rewards MC)

Don't need 5K to put one purchase on the card and AF to get 50K miles.

It could mean that it's their way of letting you know that they no longer have any writing instruments.
