So next month I am going to be applying for the Chase Slate and AMEX PRG...and maybe the BCE (still thinking about that one).
I do have a couple of questions.
1. CHASE
- I currently have the CSP w/ them. Ive had the card since 12/15 and Ive PIF every month since Ive had it.
- Is it possible that when I apply for the Slate that I can use the same HP for the CLI wih CSP?
2. AMEX
- Can some really nice person outline the complete steps on how to come across the 50k offer? I have looked, but nothing has really thoroughly laid out. Most sitess just say search it from a private browser and it will pop up. But if youre going to the regular website isnt just going to continue to show the 25k offer regardless of how you are accessing it?
- Applying for the PRG and BCE. Should I wait a couple of days in between or do them on the Same day? Will it be the same HP?
3. The only reason that I am applying for the BCE is to increase my overall available credit and I know AMEX grows w/ you. Do you think I should app for it, or just focus on the ones that I have?
Thanks in advance everyone

I might be able to help out with finding the Amex PRG 50k offer...
It was elusive for me as well; the only way I could reliably come across it was using a VPN, and setting the city to an international location (using an incognito browser). I was always hesitant to apply in this way since I knew Amex would "see" the application as coming from outside of the country and would likely have security concerns, but others have used it successfully.
Eventually I was able to get the offer by setting my VPN to Dallas, TX (also using an incognito browser). Since this was the first time in months I had seen the offer while using a domestic location in my VPN I jumped on it. I was approved, but not instantly - they made me call in, and after asking me a few questions to make sure it was "me" they approved the card over the phone. (Due to a phone glitch it was the day after my application before I could get through to them. Hint: If you have to call, don't enter anything and wait for a CSR... I kept getting a "system is down - try again later" message when I would enter my information as requested.)
I'll also mention that I have been able to get the 50k offer before on my Amazon Fire tablet (the one they sell for $35 during the holidays). Amazon runs all the queries for the Silk browser through various back-end servers to help speed up searches, so there's no way to predict if/when this will work. Also, since the AWS server behavior is similar to that of a VPN I wouldn't be surprised if you have to call in for verification if you apply this way, which for 50k MR points is a no-brainer (and as I mentioned previously is quite painless).
Good luck!

Thanks UncleB!! So when I go through the VPN (If that is my method of choice) just go to the regular AMEX website and the offer might pop up?
Exactly. Rather than clear my browser I use an incognito/private browser, and visit the website while logged into my VPN.
In the past when I would do this the first try would always give me the 25k offer, then I would navigate to google (or anywhere) then come right back to Amex, and the offer would change to 50k (sometimes it was on the third try). Lately this seems rather hit-or-miss for me, though (at least when I was actively trying, back in April-May). Notably, when I got the offer last (and actually applied) it was on my first visit to the website that day using the private browser and the Dallas VPN... there was no back-and-forth needed.
In recent history for me I either got the offer right away, or I wasn't going to get it (at least using that particular VPN city/browser combination). There's really no "set" formula for making it work these days... some folks can easily get it every time, while others (like myself) have to try for weeks/months on end to finally get it to come up. Similarly, some people report being able to make it come up easily at work, but never seeing it at home (or vice versa). Getting the 50k offer seemed to be a bit like 'throwing dice' for me the last few months, which is why once I got it I 'pulled the trigger' without waiting.
I'll add that clearing your browser might not be as important (?) if you're not already an Amex cardholder... but if you are, you most likely won't get the 50k offer unless you do clear your cookies, etc., since the idea is to entice new customers, not existing ones. However if you get the offer it won't matter if you're new or existing, they will still honor it (although the language indicates they have discretion in this case, so far they have always honored it - I got it myself as an existing cardholder).
I know this seems like a lot, but it's not as complex as I'm likely making it out to be. Basically, just don't give up and you'll likely eventually get the 50k offer.

No. Also, Slate is a useless card outside of the %0 APR special. No points, rewards, nothing... Go for the Freedom if you must have another Chase card. In addition, Chase has a 5/24 rule, if your existing cards are less than two years old, discard the idea of another Chase card.
2. AMEX

Both on the same day, they're known for approving a revolver and a charge card on the same day HP.

You have two cash back cards as it is, how will the BCE help you, besides having more available credit?
Thanks in advance everyone
Man youre the best!! Lol thanks so much much for being so detailed in your explanation! Lol and I definitely feel like Ive been "throwing dice" this last year or so in the hope for doubles and i just keep missing it
Well next month I will try out your theory and hope for the best.

Im applying for the slate for a balance transfer, so Im not really looking for rewards. Ill probably PC it when the promo BT ends. Im actually in the clear already for the 5/24 rule ( I can actually aply for 2
). Im just waiting until next month to decrease my UTI so my chances of a higher SL are increased.

Lol and for the AMEX. No Unfortunately no other reason than the fact that I will have more available credit. I would like to reach 10k or higher with all of my cards and I think AMEX can help me get there. But Im still undecided... decisions, decisions..
