You've just seen a bit higher point drop due to young file and only a couple of accounts. The average credit consumer has multiple accounts - having student loans, auto loans, mortgages, PLOC's, etc. in addition to an average of 3 revolving accts. Those with impeccable payment history and lack of recent new accounts on a constant basis are going to maintain consistent high scores with little variance when just paying statement balance by due date.
Just as an addition I am currently part of a graduate program (scheduled to graduate in 7/2023) and have 133k of student loans outstanding (new installment loans report every 3 months or so); at the moment I do not have payments as I am still in school..
Does this change anything in terms of credit card application timing/strategy?
Thanks.
