My dad is retired from working and has a clean slate with no credit score from a BK from about 5 years ago. I'm trying to figure out the best starter card for him. I've heard that sometimes discover could ask for documentation which would be a hassle for me and him to get. He pre-qualified for the basic capital one cards on the capital one website and he pre-qualified for the discover it secured. But I'm afraid of discover asking for paperwork since he is retired. Should I just apply for a capital one platinum card?
Cap1 would probably be your "least hassle" bet. IMO
Also depending on who was IIBK a local bank he has a relationship would be a good source of a CC as well. Might have to start the secured route at first.
Cap One has been know to give up to $3k to start and up to $10k a year later on their 2nd card.

Thanks! I just seen this and he got $3k on his quicksilver!
