Decided to give this card a try based on my recent approvals and was shocked at the $15K SL. But why are people getting this card? Doesn't offer rewards that beat other creditors, no BT offers, no sign in bonus, etc. Cool to have I guess? Not sure if it's worth the inquiry though.
I declined it for those reasons but nice to see such a high SL on this card.
Congrats on your approval. Nothing special if not an Apple disciple. There are some partners that get 3% with ApplePay. Apple products and services give 3%. Bumped to 6% at the holidays. There's also 24 month installment on new iPhone.
For a general card, not a lot to offer. Currently only reports to TU.
In addition to the reasons blindambition offered, I'd suggest that the card is meant to appeal to more typical credit customers than are found here. Specifically, people who:
I'm not a social butterfly, but I have relatives, friends and a partner. None of them do any of the SUB and rewards maximization we're familiar with here. Getting a new card is a once every few years event, usually accompanying a change in bank. None of them pay any attention to credit scores and how to maximize them - and most of them have no need to, because they have decades of no lates and PIF.
One of my friends (who has an Amex Platinum, TD Cash Visa and some form of Capital One) is absolutely horrified by the number of cards I have (he used to be my US mailing address) no matter how I explain I PIF except for 0% interest offers and I do it for the SUBs and maximizing the rewards. He's a big believer in "if you can't afford it, don't buy it."
Congratulations on your offer! 👍
nice sl!
not really sure about the benefits of this card unless you purchase all apple products.
and i think having that all white metal card for flex purposes..haha

I think it's pure flex lol. I'm a "high earning" millenial and Apple die hard but this card feels a bit out of place for me. Very nice SL. I might consider it in the future but don't see why I should.

I don't know, this card has been attracting a lot of people who didn't use credit previously. My roommate is 42 and the Apple Card was his first credit card since college and many on Reddit were getting it as their first card period.
It definitely isn't positioned to be attractive to those of us who have a lot of cards although the 3% discount and 0% financing on iPhones is nice, especially since you can have both instead of other cards where it's either cash back or financing.
It's also not even a year old yet. This is Apple we are talking about. They definitely will evolve this product with time.
Congratulations on your offer!

Thanks, that's alot of info I needed. But what about access to the account for making payments from your bank accounts, etc.? Is that only available in your Apple Pay wallet, or is their access through a website with any device & browser? I'm definitely NOT an Apple disciple, I've never owned any Apple product nor have any interest in owning any. But I do have an employer issued iPhone that I always have on me. The pre-approval offer with CL & APR with a SP appeals to me, and TU is my highest score & lowest inquiries - 2, and 1 falls off in March. But frankly I'd just use the CL to pad utilization and make enough small purchases with the physical card to keep it active. But should something ever change with my employer issued iPhone I'd want another way to access the account other than through an Apple device.
