Maybe. Maybe not. Follow this Chase guide. Good luck!

Re: Approved for Apple Card but should I wait?

I called their recon line and the woman I spoke to said it was a decline, one of the reasons being a past CO with a chase card from 2014 for $800 that I had forgotten about, and my charge off with cap1. But I'm guessing burning them is the real reason for decline.

How do I get back with them? Is it worth calling for a recon again?

Unfortunately, since it's likely that your initial reconsideration interaction was already documented, no additional reconsideration opportunity would be available.  HUCA used to work a while ago, but no so much these days.

Since Chase has the memory of an elephant, that CO will remain in their internal records for a long time.  You have the option to make good with them and pay it off.  Usually, that would improve your chances to re-establish a relationship with them.

Success via the HUCA method with Chase occasionally happens but since you burned them with a CO it basically isn't gonna happen.

If you're willing to consider playing a long game with them you might want to research looking for data points for those who were eventually able to get back into Chase' good graces, how long it took, and whether or not they needed to make Chase whole first by paying back the amount charged off.

Almost anything is possible except that Chase *never* forgets.

Re: Approved for Apple Card but should I wait?

Well, I applied for the Amex bce and was approved! $1000 SL. I was prequalified for the gold card but not sure if I'm ready for a card with a $250 annual fee just yet, maybe in the future. Plus a $300 CLI from discover. Not much, but I'll take it. As for Chase, I will retry in a year or so.

that was quite the ride, but glad I got my foot in the door with Amex.

Congratulations on your approval and CLI!

Re: Approved for Apple Card but should I wait?

One last update! I was confused by the women I spoke to saying I had an unpaid CO with Chase, since I thought I remembered paying it, so I dug through some old files and found my chase statements, and I HAD actually paid it off in full. So if I want to get back in with chase in the future, I think that will help. I'm going to wait until my CR looks better and try again in a year or so. After looking at a lot of threads here on Myfico I have some faith I might be able to get back in!
