After receiving four pre qualifications for the BBVA Clearpoints, I applied. It went through the application and sent me a text message to verify it was me and to "activate account," at least that's what I thought it said. Next thing I know it says "Unfortunately, we can't offer you a BBVA ClearPoints credit card at this time."
It says I'll receive my letter in the mail, however it also provided a phone number and reference number. They're closed now, so I'll call in the morning. Anyone else have that same sequence occur? Should I take it as a decline or possibly needing fraud verification? I guess I could have input the cerication code incorrectly too. 🤷🏻♂️

This is the first time I have heard of this from a BBVA Pre-Qual Mailer. They are usually pretty solid.
I would call in as @AllZero suggested. Let us know how it works out.
Go ahead and call.
Were there any significant changes to your credit profile in the last 2-3 months like going on an app spree or a big spike in utilization across your cards?
Nope, the complete opposite
Absolutely go ahead and call them.
As M_Smart007 pointed out their snail-mailed prequals, while not ironclad guarantees, are generally quite solid as long as there were no significant changes like inquiries, new accounts, or increased utilization in between the time the underlying SP tied to the offer was done and the actual application submitted - typically around the 1-3 month timeframe. That's why I asked my question.
They also emperically use geolocation during the application process to reduce the frequency of fraudulent applications (coldfusion lives in Massachusetts, why is he applying from a computer located in Montana?) but in those cases the application doesn't even get accepted for processing so doesn't apply here.
I got the same thing in mail.....Clear Points credit card. Applied online........APPROVED! $6K. Maybe you entered some wrong info....CALL!
