BECU CLI Question

Does anyone know the details of BECU and their CLI policy?  HP or SP? How long after opening? etc

Re: BECU CLI Question

It will be a HP. You can request it at any time, but it's quite pointless soon after opening.
Results are usually not spectacular unless you put a lot of spend and can make a case as to why your limit is inadequate or there are significant changes to your profile.

They are similar to Chase CLI wise because they tend to give up front largest SL they are comfortable with. Your SL is very low for them, so there is something they are not quite at peace with when it comes to your profile.
You can always call and ask your SL be reviewed.
While they are not overly sensitive to new accounts, you included them in your six cards spree, with 8 inquiries in two weeks.
Other accounts may not be reporting yet, but inquiries are there.
BECU is not conservative, but they aren't stupid either.
If you plan on using the card, ask after 3-6 months.

Being I'm very interested in them for the future, I've researched them all over the place, here and elsewhere.  As others have indicated, you are really best off waiting at least 6 months (7 statements) while using it as your main card, maybe with DD after you're sure they're ok with your ID. For best results, maybe wait a year and you'll hopefully have fewer INQs and a lot more history with them.

Re: BECU CLI Question

Chiming in because I'm about to do this myself, but wanted to add a small point to one statement about "comfort."

When I originally signed up for my Signature Visa, my original granted limit was $3k. Since I was in-branch, I asked if we could go higher, they said how much, I said $10k, and the computer made it happen, without human intervention.
