BOA pre-qual site question.

UPDATE Disregard this thread.  Just noticed the similiar BoA thread also going now.  Thank you

Hi all

I have no CCs with BOA

I want to pull the trigger on the BoA Cash Rewards card, $100 / $500 3 month spend. I go to their site and sign on to my checking account and then do the prequal

and the results says

xxxxxx, we recommend BankAmericard Cash Rewards™ Credit Card

0 percent int for 1st 12 months then afterwrds a variable int rte with  10 point spred.

A

Credit file has 2 old COs ($600 each) that are 6+ yers old. No other baddies AAoA 5 yrs 6% util

Is this a preapproval message????  (Im guessing no)

As a side note, all 3 accounts frozen but lenders are supposed to do a soft pull. Ive never tested this before

Thanks for any insight

Re: BOA pre-qual site question.

Does it show a solid interest rate or a range...if it shows a range then no if it shows a solid interest rate then yes. Also why do you believe that if you freeze your reports that a soft pull would be done by lenders. This is not true. You will probably not get approved for the card with frozen reports.....

Re: BOA pre-qual site question.

0 % interest rate for first 12 months

After the 12 month period, its a 10 point range

I know I have to lift the freezes in order to apply. I left the freezes on for the pre-qual step. I just dont know if frozen reports affect prequal sites

Re: BOA pre-qual site question.

I think its just marketing, anytime i check their prequal site and i put in i like lowering balances, they "recomend" the bbr. If i say i like cashback, well magically they recommend the cash back card.
