Re: BT card options

If you park the balance on discover and all of your utilization is under 30% you will get plenty of new offers down the road.  Youre in great shape,  lots of options. I would look into the other perks those Card have not just your balance transfer.  I think you are above slate.  Citi all the way

Re: BT card options

Thanks for the additional tips everyone, especially regarding the use of my Ring to temporarily hold the BT. I actually checked out BT options on my Ring today and see they no longer have the option to deposit into your checking account. I think I may have disposed of the checks they sent recently, darn.

I did get a mailer for the BOA, but I wonder if that's a no-go since I burned them in the past. Citi sends me various mailers every week, but that's how they roll. Nothing on prequal for Chase.

I'm considering applying for a new BT card in the next couple of months. I'm aware that I can take advantage of BT offers on some of my current cards (Discover, Barclays) but to keep UTIL at a reasonable amount on each card, I'll need to get a new one to spread the balance.

I've recently gotten mail offers for BoA and Citi Diamond Preffered for 0% for 21 months, then 12.99% afterward. Each of these have a 3% BT fee.

Then there's also the possibility of Chase Slate for 0% for 15 months with 0% BT fee.

I'd like to know which of these options would likely give me the most generous starting limit. Also, does BoA have a long memory? I burned them for a small amount over a decade ago, so if there's no shot of me getting a card with them, I'd rather not waste the inquiry.

Thanks.

Re: BT card options

Double Cash is a great balance transfer card- 0% for 15 months. Discover has also been great for balance transfers for me - 0% for 15 months as well.

You will want to ensure that your credit profile is strong enough so that you can obtain a high enough CL to support your balance transfers- one that will also allow you to maintain a healthy utilization.  Hope this helps. Smiley Happy
