Well everytime the BofA CLI link shows up, of course I am going to ask for an increase. This time I got the following denial reason?
I believe its been 6 months from my last recent CLI with B of A, I have gotten other small increases on my other non BofA cards as well. But why would they be looking at that, when my debt at 1% has not changed? Unsure about this reason?
B of A can be an odd duck.
I have received the very same,
my interpretation is; I have received to many CLI's on other accounts. (outside of BoA)
It is possible, that they compare your reports to previous reports? .. via SP'ing your file.
Again, it is just my interpretation ..so as in all things credit, YMMV
@coldfusion , might have a better explanation?

If that was the case, why even bother providing me with a link or granting me over $13k of a CLI? Makes zero sense

@gdale6 nailed it.
The blue "request a credit limit increase" hyperlink is enabled by an autobot tied to the nightly batch runs; it uses whatever current criteria it has been given to determine if someone is eligible to request a CLI. Many data points show that the links' appearance doesn't guarantee a CLI and many data points show that even without the hyperlink a cardholder can call in to request and get approved for a CLI. Emperically it isn't that big a deal since the request only triggers a soft pull, other than it could potentially push out the timeline when you would in fact get approved for a CLI.
It isn't unusual either for the hyperlink to still be there the day after a denial and its existence should not be interpreted as an open invitation to go ahead and try again right away.
I got that denial message two years ago. Link. I interpreted it to mean I had asked BofA for CLIs too often. I had been asking them often. Have you?

The last CLI was 6 months ago and for $13k ....autobot or not for CLI....If they dont want consumers asking. Maybe they should remove the bot
I have found it quite strange to develop a particular strat for this bank. right now am working off the spend 50+% and paying it off 3 months in a row and asking for CLI seems to work. Your mileage may vary very. good luck.

I did this was Cap 1, just for $1,500 CLI lol....Hoesntly the B of A is at $26k CL and will have my electric bill monthly to just give pay off history. If B of A wants to now start playing these stupid, "what if" games. I will just leave the card on auto pay for my statement balance and leave it alone for 6 months. I'll just focus on my business credit and leave it be...

@AzCreditGuy, It is always good to "shift" gears, onto something more productive,
rather than staying stuck in a rut.👍
Good for you
