I applied for a Barclay Apple Visa today and was immediately denied. I called the backdoor number for a recon and the rep asked me to verify some info to which I did and then she asked if I had a Barclay card before? I told her yes and that it was included in my bankruptcy that was discharged in December 2016. She proceeded to tell me that Barclays current policy is to not let anyone back in if there was ever a debt that was not paid in full or discharged in a bankruptcy and that my credit report wasn't even pulled. Anyone ever hear of this? Since my discharge in December of 2016, I have been able to obtain a Capital One Platinum that was converted to a no annual fee Quicksilver thathas a $3800 limit, a true Quicksilver no annual fee $1000 limit, and a Discover It with a $1200 limit. All under 5% util. Fako score sitting at 675.
Welcome to the board. Your BK is too soon to get back in with Barclays especially since they were included in it. Your credit not being pulled is very normal with how Barclays handles these situations.
The fact that you have been able to get new credit since the BK will not be taken into consideration especially when it comes to Barclays unfortunately. So give it a few years and then try again.
Thank you for your reply. I see. I guess I will write off Barclay's for some time. I also had AMEX included in my BK. I have been trying to follow the BK to 700 plan and I originally started with a 564 out of BK now 675 within 8 months. However, not sure where else to go with my future credit cards considering I burned AMEX and Barclay. CITI and Chase are a no go since I have a BK. Any other ideas for other cards?

It is only 6 months since your BK so I suggest you work with the cards you have now for at least a year before persueing others. Do you have other loans thus, a mortgage, car loan etc? Since you are rebuilding, you should still have the right credit mix to boost your credit profile.
Welcome to Barclays Blacklist !!! Jump in, the water is fine
I burnt them about 8 years ago and still a no go for me
Well 8 months since BK discharge technically. Yes, I have two auto loans that I kept. One for $40K and the other for $7K. Balances are now $36K and $6200. Another $14K in student loans that have never been late. I have already made just over $23K in payments on my Capital One Quicksilver(originally Platinum). Discover I charged less than $100 per month for the first few months to see about a CLI to no avail. THen I ran it up and PIF to see about a CLI again to no avail

So they are like AMEX then huh? I was thinking of applying for a US Bank Cash + or Cash Rewards since at one time, my student loads were actually through them and I never burned them. Everything I have read thus far though shows them to be like Chase ad CITI. However, I live in Salt Lake and am an avid REI consumer and found that the new REI MC is issued via US Bank. Not sure if that is a way to get my foot in the door
I was discharged from bk7 on dec 2015 and included Barclays for about $3500... I applied multiple times in the past and they never pulled my report... just last week, I applied again and I called their recon and the lady said that she will check my app and pull my credit.. asked about my inquiries and was declined.. told me it wasn't because I had bk on file but because of my inquiries and new accounts..She also said I wasn't blacklisted... I won't be trying again anytime soon but give it some time... try when your bk is a yr old...
Wow. Pretty sucky to be blacklisted for so long. I know that coming out of a BK, we have to buy our time. However, if you have burned cards/banks early on, where does that leave us?
