Just appliedfor the Barclays Apple rewards card and received the 7-10 day notice. Does that mean I was denied? Should I call recon? Sidenote: I aslo applied for the Discover It approved (12.5k) and Chase Southwest ( received 30 day notice- have not called recon yet) earlier this morning. Applied for Discover first.

Id call the BD # for Barclays. They might ask a few questions, and you can recon it there. Do you have credit history built up? If you're new to credit, they want at least 6 months showing on the CRA first.

With Chase....have you called the app status line to check yet? Its also in the BD #'s. Check that first. Some folks will say to "wait it out", but I prefer to call because it could be verification. Good luck!!

Barclays can go either way. With your scores I'd expect an approval. I got the same message with my last Barclays app and it was approved the following day.

Just an FYI, unless you're buying a new iPhone or Apple Watch, you'll get more cashback through Discover's shopping portal than through Barclaycard's 3% on Apple purchases.

I saw that today! I'll get my iPhone through Verizon. But I will have to calculate DH discount with his employer versus Discover's cashback bonus. Time to start planning out my holiday shopping.
