@Called in today to see if I could get a SP CLI from Barclays. I've had this card since 3/31 @ $1,000. Reconned immediately after approval and got an additional +$500, so total $1500 CL. I've racked up close to $2k in charges in this month alone and have made about 4 payments for the month already, $300/$400/$200/$200, currently carrying a $700 balance. I use this just about everyday as my regular card so usage is high, but I always make lumpsum payments.
@Anonymous CSR rep asked what I was looking for and I asked for a total CL of $2500. He reviewed his SP CR and asked about a charge off from macys that is 5 years old. He mentioned it is un unpaid charge off, which I plan on leaving that way as it'll drop off some time in the near future, is why I haven't really addressed it. He also asked about my recent inquiries, asking why I have had several? Currently I am @ like 12/10/13 across all CRA since I have been on the rebuild path, most of which were in the last few months. I explained to him my situation and after a small chat, he said he is unable to grant me the CLI. He said he would like to see more payment history and less INQ in the near future. I told him I never pay the minimum and have made large payments at a time, about 4x a month. He pretty much said that doesn't really do us no good in gauging your payment history.
He just shot me down in a nice way, basically telling me to continue to do what I am doing and try not to have so many INQ later down the road and to try again. Granted, I have only had this card for about a month and I am probably jumping the gun in requesting a limit, but a closed mouth doesn't get fed and it didn't hurt to at least try.
@Anonymous current highest card is Capital One @ $2k, which I've had since October starting @ $500. I really want to start seeing bigger SL and larger CL's and I'm sure I will be due for a CLI from capital one in the near future, so that should at least be a 100% CLI, hopefully to $4k on all 3 of my cards which are currently sitting at $2k CL.
What a bummer..
I hate patience..
I commend you on your persistence in rebuilding your credit, but you had scores in the 500's 6 months ago, now you are in the low 600's clawing your way to the 650+ club, plus you just got the card less than a month ago.
You need to garden for 3-4 months IMO, don't work yourself up charging everything on your cards and just see what happens. Just push the cli button on J Crew and Overstock once a month. You just got the Barclays card. Just chill till October and keep your inquiries down. Maybe try an Am Ex ED and PRG in about 3 months once your scores hit the over 670 mark.
I think if you just slow down a bit you'll start closing in on the 700 club and some better offers will surface. Your foundation has already been built.

@Anonymous thank you for the encouragement. That is exactly what I needed to read. I know I have a good foundation set now I just need to learn to keep my finger off the trigger. It sucks because I just want to do well again and be trusted by lenders since I'm no longer some immature kid with a cc.
I've burned bridges but now as I'm in my early 30s I want to eventually own a home. It's like an addiction, I find myself checking my scores daily and freak out over a +/- in my scoring and try to think of 100 ways to correct it, when all in all like you said, I just need to slow my roll and be patient. But it's so much easier said than done..lol
If you want to own a home, id take care of that charge-off with Macys, that is, if its a judgement.

Is this considered a judgement or should I just let this be and let it fall off eventually?

When is the last month this was reported? Have you disputed it to try and get a deletion? It's not a judgment just an R-9 (revolving charge off)

First thing . . . 1 month?!?!?!?
You better learn how to be nice to your new friend PATIENCE.
Definition: "an ability or willingness to suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay:"
Be nice to her and she'll good care of you in years to come.
Knock her over, kick her in the shin and whine all day because you want a CLI NOW will not make her happy.
All you will get is slap in the face and a good lesson in being humble.
Just take it easy and your day will come!

$247??
$247???
$247????
Really???
If you want to by a house, 2 suggestions.
1. Make good and pay that darn $247 to Macys.
2. Stop charging on cards and SAVE for a downpayment.
Worrying about CLIs is a low priority right now.

@Anonymous How can you tell when the last month it was reported is? Per Transunion credit monitoring, this is all it shows:
