Barclays Rewards Refuses to CLI

Has anyone run into issues with Barclays where they refuse to move off your initial credit limit ?   I was granted a 250.00 line in april of 2014 never missed a payment and have PIF multiple times running around 1k through the card.  My FICO is around 60 pts higher then when i recd the card .  I have other cards with much higher limits however barclays refuses to grow. Hate to close it but the $250 is doing nothing for me .   Low utilization across the board not an excessive amt of inq either..

Well if you started with such low limit. Yes best to close and apply. For another product now that your score is higher   They will give nice limit.

Did you try calling the EO at Barclays to see what they can do about it. See what happens there and if that fails, just dump the card really. Sucks that it's sounding like it's your most underperforming TL at the moment. Maybe you'd have better luck with another Barclay card.

Tradelines: Macy’s - $18k, Penfed Power Cash Rewards - $10k, Ethan Allen (TD Bank) - $5.7k, Kay Jewelers - $5.5k, Appliances Connection - $5.3k, Jared - $5.25k, Best Buy (Citi) - $5k, Dell Preferred Account - $3.5k, Samsung - $3.2k, Firestone CFNA - $3.2k, Capital One Platinum - $3k, Mercury MC - $2.25k, Williams Sonoma - $2.1k, Wayfair (Fortiva) - $2k, Amazon Store Card - $1.8k, Apple Card - $1.7k, NFCU cashRewards - $1.5k, CareCredit - $1.5k, B&H Photo - $1.5k, Adorama - $1.25k, Ebay MC - $1k, Sam’s Club MC - $1k, American Eagle - $1k, Ollo MC - $600, Mission Lane Visa - $500, NY & Company - $500, Walgreens - $500, Home Depot - $500, Target RED Card - $500, CapOne Secured MC 0 AF - $500, Penfed Overdraft LOC - $500

Current FICOS: Mid 640s-50s on all reports, Ch 7 BK D/C Aug 2019
Starting scores: EX - 534, EQ - 574, TU - 516 | Total TLs: $91k approx | Total Utilization: 17%, getting this back down

Re: Barclays Rewards Refuses to CLI

I agree with others. Close and apply for different product. Barclays sometimes stick rebuilders in a box and won't grow with us. I'm experiencing the same. I'm closing mine's in a few months.

Not just rebuilders.   My SM just turned a year old, lowest CL by far, no CLIs.  But stil useful so I am keeping it.

What was your TU FICO at first app and what is it now?

You'd be best off to app for a new Barclay's product, then close the current one and roll it's limit into your new card.
