My limits with PF is 45k and CO is 16.7k and USX is 15k and my highest APR with those is 15.15 with CO and as low at 10.24 with PF. Their rate is 25.99, HAHA. If it wasn't my oldest card I without question would close it. It just seems there is 0 appreciation. Maybe i am just venting or even wrong but that is my impression. Thanks for letting me vent. SP CLI's are not a "right" for any of us. I would not compare CU limits against traditional big bank lenders, CU's tend to be far more generous when it comes to CL's (as you referenced PFCU). If you had been patient and waited until your scores were over 700 I would bet you would have different results (and yes I am aware of Barclay's being a TU puller but do they ever SP the others?).
Completely agree that they are not a right, however in that same breath. The APR is asinine and the fact that in almost two years they have NEVER even done a SP, I looked on my inquiries report. I also think that my credit file means more than just score, wouldn't you agree ????????/
I have had cards with barclays for over 3 years and once I did receive auto luv but thats it, they arent very giving to me either. Definitely cant compare them to capitalone and credit unions out there. Barclays does like certain people, but then there are also all us of they just deal with lol.

I closed my only barclay card last week. Everyone has their own opinion but I'm absolutely not a fan of their practices. I have other cards with other companies that are fair and give increases with good history etc.
+1 Smart Choice
Absolutely the same experience here. Not only that but their U/W excuses were consistently so phony it had grown hilarious.
I dumped them maybe a month or so ago before they went ape poop on my only card with them because i believe in PROGRESS

Have you tried the trick where you call in and ask for an APR reduction? May be a way to get a SP CLI.. I called in and got a MAJOR decrease on my rate, just a thought ![]()

This is by far the easiest way to get SP CLIs from Barclays. I've done it 4 times now and everytime they have reduced my APR (even if just a little) and given sizable CLIs via SP.

Don't be so sure. They played a really nice game on me a few months ago. Inq's disappeared from TU, last baddies fell off and score hit 700+ Asked for a HP cli, guess what happened...! They pulled EX for a cli even though they had pulled TU for the application initially. CLI was a no go and i learned my lesson
I am on the same boat with OP, for the first few months i sepnt an avarage $5K+ on a $2K limit card and almost the same spending with a $1K limit card. Only got $400 auto cli on the $2K card, and thats it. Now i am paying them down to get an auto cli on the MC as well, then close it and combine the limits to have one Apple card with a better limit. And will probably SD it.
One thing I noticed that seems common with Barclay's is their first card limits are low and CLI's are iffy. But when you app for a 2nd card the limit reflects your history with them. Just going by what I've seen. Though I know for OP you want it on this card since it's your oldest, does Barclay combine cards? I don't know.

I asked and they do. One card must be 0 balance, likely the one you want to close. They told me i could combine my Apple Visa and Rewards MC with no problem. And when i asked them, both accounts were around 7 months old, so they did not say that an account has to be at a certain age to do so. So i guess they are easy to work with when it comes to combining accounts.
