Best to call or apply online for new application

Hello,

I was thinking is it better to call or fill up online form for opening new card or line of Credit. Maybe talking to human live will have fast approval?

Thanks

Nope, normally makes no difference at all. Unless it's a very small bank or credit union. And you're talking directly to the UW from the start.
With the large banks, the CSRs will input the same information you would from home.

Re: Best to call or apply online for new application

Most lenders have set up applications using computer systems to say yes or no, generally because it is more efficient to use an automated system that quickly looks to your credit report and assigns a yes or no plus a starting credit limit using the lenders' parameters. Calling into a CRS entails more of their employees' time and in fact, they'll just punch the same information in that you would.

Of course, having to call in would certainly cut down on those late night (wine induced) applications for the MyFico new recently posted flavor of the month cards like NASA FCU, Diners Club, Beaver and Duck cards, BlisPay, etc. Smiley Frustrated

Save your calls into a lenders CSRs for recons IMO.
