Re: Blispay Denied - Help

Thank you creditcuriosity and Aahz for the information on how to potentially get the HP removed. I appreciate it!

Blackbeauty212-I understand what you are saying about Blispay being different than traditional banks. But are people that have recently moved not A++++ consumers? In the past three years I have moved approximately every six months due to my job and school - and have been able to get cards from a variety of lenders. I would think A++++ consumers would expect a lender to be able to verify information accurately. Also, the problem is not that the info is not veifiable - the problem is that blispay is not willing to verify the info.

Hopefully, people who have recently moved will see this thread before deciding to apply.

Re: Blispay Denied - Help

If these guys are indeed a no frills issuer, which appears to be the case thus far--though this somewhat remains to be seen (after all, they may bring in more options as they grow--things like increases, AUs, and more verification possibilities), then they have every right to not hire staff whose sole purpose is to verify details like mismatched addresses. They are passing along a 2% cash back program and a 0% interest rate on purchases over $199 to you, the consumer. Keeping costs down is essential for such a model to work.

In any case, this company not having a verification department doesn't give an applicant the right to have a HP removed. A HP says you applied; and guess what?? You applied!

On a side note, you should never use a brand new address to app. for anything. Mail forwarding exists for a reason. Use the addy in your credit file and update with the bank immediately afterwards. Otherwise don't apply for anything until you're sure the bureaus have your new info. If you're applying for something in branch, PBOs will put the app. through before effecting an address update. I know this from working in branch myself.

I think people need to remember BlisPay is a start up orginization.. They're not Chase, BofA, Cap 1, Citi or any other Big Credit Card issuer.

These guys are trying to carve out a niche product and attract only the A++++ of consumers, as there limited liquidity will only allow them to. I am sorry for the OP address trouble, but I think this should be used as Data Point rather than complaining...

Just like BlisPay will not approve anything under 690 score .... ALL information must be veriafiable for approval, any recent address or name changes need to wait for the CRA's to update.

I think "verifiable" is the key word in a lot of the discussion.  It appears that most everyone can "verify" whatever Blispay has issues with BUT Blispay will not allow people to verify their address or identity. We all know that some CRA's either don't or won't correct issues in a timely manner for some of us even if they have been requested to do so.  It is our responsibility to have proof if needed of the correct information and provide it if the incorrect reporting caused an issue. Some of the denials for these kind of issues are probably great  credit risks and would be great customers if they were able to straighten out these issues with Blispay.  Again we all know it's their game and their rules but we can still discuss it ,pick at it, praise it or complain about it.  Obviously  this discussion changes nothing but allows members to voice their issues whether we agree with the other members or with Blispay's underwriting.

I for one am grateful to have this forum as a means to discuss the issues (complain about them if desired) and consider many different arguments from anyone who wishes to contribute to the discussion.  I thank the OP for sharing his/her comments with us and giving us all the opportunity to chime in.
