Or, maybe I'm approved in 24hrs!!! I'll keep you posted as I check tomorrow lol.

Edit #1: I just realized I didn't remove my **bleep** TU freeze before BOA SP CLI my report. Could this cause a denial??

It is possible.

@M_Smart007 and @AllZero It's more than possible it happened. So I think I just managed to get lucky in regard to speaking to the right person. I have detailed my DP's below and will update my 1st post.

**FYI—Call times are in the 1-2hr wait as of now**

Seeing I did have a TU freeze on my report when I requested early this morning around 0500hrs I decided to call back in and request another CLI after I removed the TU Freeze. I spoke with the frontline CSR who agreed the (5-7) day message was because I indeed had a TU Freeze. He took my information again and proceeded to put in the request. This time he came back with I need to transfer you to a "specialist" and literally just transferred the call. BAM! and he was gone and I was back on hold, for about (1) min. Another person answered the phone and asked in a stern voice for my name and my ABN #, I was like, umm, I don't have that number, I can give you my social. The person answered and said I need your ABN # or Employee ID and Customer Information. I laughed and said I am the customer, they paused and came back with a much nicer voice stating I was not supposed to be transferred to this department and it was an internal line.

They said some other things in regards to how frontline CSR's have been making mistakes and transferring people into the wrong internal departments. I'm assuming because they're overwhelmed with calls due to the pandemic. But I'll skip the banter and get to the meat & potatoes.

The person proceeded to tell me I submitted two CLI requests in a matter of a couple of hours. I confirmed this and explained the situation–(TU Freeze, CSR saying it was ok, etc. etc.). They looked over my account and said my first CLI was "declined" because of the TU Freeze and BOA can indeed see customers who still have it active and are more inclined to deny the request. They stated: "We will not always deny, but, you should remove the freeze for absolute best results with the computer system".

My second request was reviewed by them on the spot and declined due to:

- Account not reaching (12) months of age

- No banking/checking relationship with BOA

I asked immediately if it could be reconsidered, the person replied I am the person who reconsiders requests and BOA now has a strict policy on (12) months of age before CLI. I said, so "if I was outside of (12) months would I have been approved?" The UW responded, yup for the full amount requested 30k which is a 22k CLI BTW.

I also asked if I had a checking account with a high balance and good history would I have been approved? The UW stated, "I would have looked into the request more yes"... which in my eyes is "yes" but seeing I'm on the phone and being possibly recorded I'll give you the ambiguity answer.

So moral of the story is most if not all new accounts with no previous history with BOA have to wait (12) months before CLI. Yes, YEMV but it's a good DP to know.

I shall be requesting a CLI (12) months and (1) day from my account opening date for 30k! FUTURE here I come!

@TheFIGuy, sorry for the denial.Smiley Sad At least you know where you standSmiley Happy

But what a great readSmiley Happy   .. I too was once transferred to UW at BMO when I should not have been.

Since I had Him on the line, made the best of it. I blatantly asked if there are any secrets I should know?

and would The UW department, accept a token of appreciation such as a case of wine in regards to a monster CLI.

Lets just say, We both got a good laugh. Smiley Very Happy

Re: BoA CLI - Pending

For BOA, you should enter the highest amount ($50k? $99999k) and let them come back and grant the amount they are willing to give. This way you are not leaving money on the table. You already know (though the word of a CSR is very much YMMV)...that $30k is a CLI you can get...why not ask for way more and then let them approve what they want to give.

Re: BoA CLI - Declined (NEW accounts must wait (12) months before CLI)

BoA has tightened up a lot with their underwriting, so a 12 month policy for new accounts to get a CLI does not seem too ridiculous to me. Certainly stricter than they were in days gone by, but in the current enviornment we will probably see more of such policies. How long the policies will last, who knows.

Yes, you need to unfreeze your TU. Good luckSmiley Happy

I am not sure above is true...  I have received CLI every three months and my TU has been locked (not freezed) for a long time.

It's been BoA's policy for quite a while to automatically reject a CLI request when the applicant's TU report is frozen, even though as a current reporting creditor they are already entitled to SP it.

So, I'm on some sort of a roll and thought—"Why not?" If you look at my previous posts I have been dipping into the AMEX Business and NFCU Personal credit. But, seeing my luck or some would call it success I decided to try with BOA.

Opened this account Sept. 2019 and it's been about (6) months with no "LUV" button insight. I have read that BOA changed some policies for new account holders to (12) months before CLI aka "LUV" button appeared... But with the whole pandemic going on and BOA and other banks helping the consumers out, I thought, maybe, just maybe, I might be able to slip in a little early CLI.

Called up BOA and asked for a CLI, the CSR took my information and the computer "SPUN" for some time as the CSR actually said: "Wow this is taking longer than normal". Then BOOM, I think she said (5-7) Business days or it could have been (7-10), to be honest, I tuned out once I didn't hear congratulations.

Now, I wait for the denial reasons in the snail-mail which I'm sure will be "account age isn't (12) months blah blah"... One can always shoot his shot!

Or, maybe I'm approved in 24hrs!!! I'll keep you posted as I check tomorrow lol.

This is exactly why i always get denied. Lol, no money, no bank relationship . Im sure the " high balance" in checking will be more helpful than just having the checking.  I wouldnt necessarily take a CSR's word that youll be approved for 30k after 12 months but  its gotta be nice to be able to achieve that limit. Going off that limit alone id say you make at least 60k + so if you actually make more you will still have growth, Boa likes to give at least 50% of ones income without BR. Good luckSmiley Happy
