@Anonymous Your personal started as a secured card? With BofA? I have a 3k secured card and a 5k unsecured travel rewards with them. Just curious if they bucket tbeir secured cards after graduation. I am also a banking customer with them.
@Anonymous wrote:my both persoanl and business cards also no longer showing the CLI link, but I got approved 2 days ago or their Preffered reward account instant approval for 15K. I only applied because I have been seeing the offer in my online account for almost 2 months.
My persoanl cash reward card is 14k and Business 28k( which I started as a secure card 2 yrs ago).
Congrats @Anonymous on the very elusive (for most) Premium Rewards approval. Could your share of data points as far as your relationship with BOA, checking/savings? Investments? How many accounts 6,12 months? Fico scores?
Well, I had business and personal checking account relationship started with them back in 2017 and in 2018 I applied for 1st business cc after a mailer. I applied and they only offered me a secured business cash reward card after I went with it for $7500 deposit I graduated after 12 months sp for a cli got it increased to 18k months later another sp got to 28k.
thwn I applied for a personal cash reward cc which was offered through online account offer I got approved for 14k no cli on that though. I have been declined 3 times, last attempt was in March 2020. I haven't see the cli link since then. And then just got approved for proffered card for 15k they had been offering me @ online account every time for a month now.
I hope these dps help.
I have checking account personal and business for about 3 years.
investment account for about a year.
I haven't receive that shiny card yet 🤪
I'll chime in with my experiences here. While I'm sure BofA has tightened lending in the face of COVID, I don't think the appearance of the luv button is wholly tied to that. If your account supports an increase, I'm reasonably certain it would be there. I have checking, savings, Merril investment, auto loan, Cash Rewards and Premium Rewards with BofA. My luv buttons for both Cash and Premium Rewards have been on throughout the pandemic. My premium was ready for an increase (by my own internal schedule) a couple of months ago - requested and received a 10k increase to take me to 35k on that card; Cash Rewards is over 40k. I had luv buttons on both when I made that request, and they still haven't disappeared (which I guess means I left money on the table). Point being, if they are comfortable giving you the money, you will get it; if not, you won't. Nobody outside of BofA could tell you with certainty what their criteria are. Don't concentrate on why someone isn't giving - concentrate on making your profile strong enough that they won't say no.

@SouthernCredit Very well put statement in bold as highlighted. Although there could very well be many circumstances besides Covid that has the luv button dissapering for many my situation is somewhat of a mystery or could very well be the obvious.
I had the luv button appearing on my account for over a year and half. Made numerous requests for increases over that time and all where subsequently denied. Last increase was 9/2018 to be precise. Now during that time frame I had combined my Merrill+ into my Cash Rewards to make it one large CL.
Then, around April or May I had a payment post late to my account, first time since having the account open and as soon as that statement cut for the month, my luv button disappears. And to this day no luv button has reappeared. Could that be a coincidence between late payment posting and luv button dissapering + Covid?
Could be. Ironically this would have happened after me making numerous large payments over the history of my account. So 100% payment history intact.
Nonetheless I am going to be testing all theories soon when I app for the very elusive Premium Rewards Card. 😉

@Curious_George2 wrote:The BofA luv button appeared for me today on a card that received a CLI just 83 days ago. So, naturally, I clicked it. Got the 7-10 day message, so that's a no. The denial isn't surprising, but the early appearance of the button is.
In reality its appearance really shouldn't be. Contrary to what people sometimes report its appearance doesn't follow a set schedule and something about the current state of your profile triggered their automated system to flag you as being eligible to ask. I've had it reappear less than 3 weeks after a successful request.
A 7-10 day message from them doesn't necessarily mean a denial either BTW, you could be in the grey zone and have an underwriter approve an increase.
Great info. Thanks!
This one did turn out to be a denial, for requesting too soon after last CLI.
The button is still there and day 90 is this week, so I'll give it another try soon.
Update
-Around october 2019 i stopped using my checking account with BOA, only use a little instead of using it for all my income and transactions like before.
-In December i asked online for a CLI on my 12k cash rewards, denied
-After 10 days i called them and got a CLI for 20.4k
-In january they game me the prefered rewards gold status.
-In february i openned a checking account with them and left there 500 bucks since then.
-In february i got a prequal for travel rewards, but applied for another cash rewards instead because mine started as secured and they dont waive the 39 dollars anual fee. denied.
-end of marcha luv button appeared and i tried a cli on my 20k cash rewards and was denied. with 80k income. i run about 2k trough the card every month for almost 3 years... button disapeared forever...
-In june i got a citi double cash with 4200 SL.
-In June i got a 16k direct deposit from my cash rewards that i wanted to use in an action, Paid fully before statement closed.
-Early sept i received a prequal for the travel rewards and i went for it and got only got a 1k SL with now 96k income....
I immediately asked for a CLI and was denied....
-Today i called them about a CLI on the cash rewards , also denied. 5-10 days message.
Can someone shed some light on whats going on with BOA ?
they seduced me with a prequal, to then screw me with a 1k SL and a hard pull...no luve button, no cli´s...
its been almost 3 years i bank with them.
i suppose its because they dont see the cash flowing in the checking account like before and think i am unemployed or in distress? i think it may have benefited me and now its damaging me. should i close this checking? or take it to zero?
I always PIF AZEO and for UTIL i let report very little like 5%-8%
