Re: BoA

Are you saying you need to stop apping? BofA is a fairly conservative lender and if you have a ton of INQs, that could be the reason.

You already took the HP for a denial so now you need to get on the phone tomorrow and speak with one of their credit analyst's. If a backdoor number can't be found in here (they change them all the time) then speak with a CSR and request to be transferred to that department.

This can go either way but since you already have gotten the HP, there's always that possibility where you might have that denial overturned into an approval after all.

BE ADVISED HOWEVER: It will require for them to also do another HP from a different CRA. <------------

This is the number one thing to do ANYTIME in most instances where you get met with an online denial because human eyes and correspondence can always make the difference to your favor.

If still no joy, then ASK them what they expect and would prefer to see to better your chances the next time with them.

Re: BoA

Best of luck if you decide to recon the denial.

Re: BoA

BofA is hit or miss on everything especially approvals and pre quals. I was always under the impression their pre quals were garbage but lately I've read they were somewhat solid so who knows. I never had a pre qual but was approved anyway and that's after being denied previously for lack of banking history. They are a weird one sometimes. Give the recon a shot and good luck.

Yea BofA can be strange when it comes to prequals, most are rubbish like Discovers, but BofA does offer true prequals.

you have nothing to lose by calling for a Recon, i had a Secured card with them and after it became Unsecured i requested for the $39 annual fee to be removed permanently and they told me there is nothing they can do about that so i got mad and Closed the Account, then the following month i Applied to a Regular BOA Credit card and was Declined right away, i called and got that one approved with a Starting Credit line of $1,500 and today that Card has a $25.8K Credit line, Good luck Smiley Wink

Re: BoA

Been banking with them for 10 years and even now with my score almost close to 700 on TU they denied me because I have one collection for $127 from 7 years ago that's due to fall out this December ... My denial doesn't says "too many inquiries" or "new accounts" it just said "collection account" boo... I'm pulling my banking with them and moving to Chase. 🤓
