I have applied for BOA credit cards countless of times and have always gotten declined. In the past I've had lots of apps and inquiries but yesterday I had low inquiries 3/6 6/12 and only 2/6 accounts. 5/24. My scores are high 700s and I have low usage on my cards. I just got approved for a CSP with 12,800 starting limit but I can't get approved for a customized cash rewards card? I have added BOA to my list of never again next to CapOne. They will never get my business.
I'm sorry about your Bank of America denial. What are their reasoning for denial? Has it been the same for all the times you've applied?
Haven't received it yet since I just applied. Before it was too many new accounts and too many inquiries so we will see.

Is that 2/6 also 2/12? The number of new accounts in the last 12 months is one of their metrics, and the threshold is different if you're an existing client vs. if you aren't.
I might be 3/12. I can't remember. It's just so dumb though. You'd figure a chase shapphire card would be much harder to attain than their generic card.
You're probably bumping up against some weird set of internal criteria they have set. These lenders all have standards and even internal scoring that they use to make these decisions.
Also they could just hate you. 😉

In my 17 years of banking with BoA, I've come to the realization that they hate everyone!
They even kinda hate us Preferred Rewards members, just ever so slightly less than everyone else.
So I got the letter and it was not a denial. It was a request for an SSN form(that has my ssn number and dob on it amongst other information), and my tax documents. They want them mailed not faxed. Sorry but I will never mail that kind of sensitive information. Like here you go potential thieve, here's all my info, steal my identity. Why is BOA so stupid that not offer a fax option on this sort of sensitive information? I would gladly fax it.
If it makes you feel any better i've had a card with them for 14 years now and they wont give me a CLI or another card, it's stayed at $1,000 forever, I have no derogs and scores in the mid to high 700's and a checking w/ direct depost relationship with them the whole time also. I have cards with 50k limits, when I tell them this they scoff and say they're not them... lol gotta love it. Only reason I keep it is it's my oldest trade line and no annual fee.
