It was the BoA The University of Michigan alumni card. Me ex has her undergrad degree from UM and I have a Grad Certificate from there. Unfortunately, I've been blacklisted from BoA because of a disputed charge it to them a long time to acknowledge and remove. Though several months ago I received USPS bank account offer from BoA. Must confess they are on my short list of cards I want. Luckily, I've read on the forums that BoA doesn't offer legit pre-approvals.

They do, but they are extended online through the Activity Center to targeted existing clients.

Thank you for the insight. I no longer never have a relationship with them. Now utilize the UMCU for my status card! LOL!!

+1
Hi everyone,
So I just applied (finally) for the card. I was told I would receive a decision in a few days. Not sure what the hold up is. I know a lot of financial institutions are being a little stricter, now.

That in and of itself is neither unusual nor is it a real cause for concern. Their underwriters work East Coast business hours M-F and since you currently do no other business with them other than being listed as an AU on someone else's card you could have been tagged for verification.
If it's a manual review they usually complete in 2 but it can be as long as 5 business days to make a decision, if it's verification it can unfortunately take them even longer to call you. If they call to validate a successful validation typically means immediate approval and they can give you your SL.
Good Luck on your application.
Thanks! I'll definitely report how this goes. This is slightly different because I'm already an AU on the account. Since BofA allows co-borrowers I've applied to become a co-borrower on this account that is 38 years old and has a $24k limit /zero balance. We will see ☺️
So, i was approved as a co-borrower. Im really interested in seeing what impact this will have on my credit since this card is 38 years old. I'm hoping it'll age my history. Will report back on a different thread.
