Hey Guys,
I tried to find some knowledge on this specific aspect if BofA but I had no luck.
I tried to CLI with BofA and I got denied. I had a 4k balance on my 17200 line when I did it.
Called recon and they said it would take 24-72 hours to be reviewed. I have not heard back, so I assume denied.
However, I paid more than half that off and I want to try to apply again. Obviously, the credit report would be the same but the actual account with BofA would be in better shape. I know they hold the report on file for 30 days. However, I wonder if this is a special scenario.
Also, I tried to increase to 30k because they will usually just throw out what they are willing to approve.
My questions, 1) if i apply again would they use the same report? 2) did I get shot down cause of my high request?
Hang in there for K in Boston. Or maybe message him. He's the BofA guru (or pimp...YMMV) 'round these parts.

No need to reapply again if you submitted the CLI request <30 days ago. The same HP will be used even if you called to have it reconsidered.
Anytime it's submitted for a higher than a standard amount (based on present CL and usage), it's either approved (provided one meets the UW eligibility), countered to a lower amount or declined altogether.
You mentioned it was initially denied. What reason did they provide?
You can also get a notice that it's being remanded for manual review with a generic 7-10 day up-to-30 day notification qualifier.
IME actual turnaround is generally by COB the next business day and they do not counter - it's an all-or-nothing proposition.
I got the letter today and the first reason for the denial is
- Cash Advance history on one of more of your accounts with us and/or our affiliates.
Interesting cause I literally only did an advance for 400 dollars last month. It was only to pay off a card before the statement cut.
Its funny that they offer you a feature that they mark as negative. Especially for one use. I guess I will not be using BofA for that anymore if ever needed.
Does anyone know how long that shows on your recent history with BofA?
Agreed, it was my first one ever. I only paid a 3% fee and then paid it off at the end of the week. Therefore, I paid 12 dollars which for the reason I thought was more than worth it. I am going to call recon tomorrow and see if there is some reasoning I can make.
