How often does Bread allow CLI on their CashBack card?
I got a 1k CLI with them a month ago (6k to 7k) and am wondering if they are like Discover where there doesn't seem to be a fixed rule about how often they can grant one, or if they are like other lenders where no CLI will be approved again before 90 days, 180 days etc? My CLI granted a month ago was a softpull but don't want to keep requesting if there is no way it would be approved.
i received my 1st CLI right after my first statement cut in october 2022. it was a 1k increase.
my 2nd CLI was given in may 2023, another 1k increase. my 3rd CLI was given on the 5th of this month (august) right after the statement cut. increase from 8k to 12k.
after my first CLI in october i hit the love button a few times. january & february. denied because last CLI was too recent. looks like its a YMMV situation with them. id wait a minimum 90 days between asking. i put a little spend on the card each month so im gonna hit them up again in december. each CLI was a SP. if its a HP, it will be on experian.
Thanks, I'm curious if there are any datapoints out there of getting Bread CLI increases approved 90 days apart or less, if not maybe it is an actual rule with them.
Off topic but your sig I noticed your scores are ~720 with UTIL 1%. Can I ask how that is happening, is it from baddies?
in feb when i was denied a CLI i called and asked if there was a timeframe in regards to getting increases. she said no, i can ask as often as i want but its all computer generated based in overall credit profile. from my experience 90+ days seems to be the sweet spot. i have less than 1% utilization across all credit cards. i let 1 card report a small amount each month and always pay in full the others i put spend on. i also rotate the cards that get the spend so none dont get left out :-)
with this bread amex card i have it set for autopay with directv, auto insurance & my cell phone. i was able to change my due date so it lines up with a good time to pay in full before the due date. that amounts to about $500 monthly. as for the baddies i do have a bk13 reporting from 2017. falls off this time next year. hoping for a nice fico bump.

I got my Bread cb Amex on 6/4/22 6k sl.
I requested a cli on 12/12/22 via the webpage and was approved for a 2k cli. 6k - 8k.
So in my case it was 6 months, it might be sooner but I waited 6 months to ask.
