I think it's against the rules to suggest lying on income and generally not a good practice.

If you are suggesting falsifying income, this is a no-no on many levels not only suggesting it on this forums is in violation of the TOS of the forum. Also look at recent news events in the last few years where people have also been charged and convicted for such things and could get one in alot of trouble with the law...

I would not agree to lie about income but I am pretty sure when I got my discover student card i put down 15K. I would check into a local small cu that maybe has a student card or can give her a low SL like 250 or 300.
Add her as an AU to an account or two of yours. Also, try Fingerhut to get her first tradeline

in my experience with secured cards, I would try to look into a secured loan with her bank or a credit union to establish a payment history before going for a credit card. if a credit card is necessary, i have heard decent reviews for the opensky card but i dont believe that to be a good long term card.
